Thread: So I wanted to beat all melee classes in PvP:

    Default So I wanted to beat all melee classes in PvP:

    So I decided to be a range who can:
    -shoot you from 35 yards away
    -run 70% faster every 21 seconds (not to mention break snares)
    -run 20% faster at all times
    -run 20% faster (it stacks with the others) whenever i shoot a finisher
    -teleport 15 yards ahead of me every 45 seconds
    -knock people away from me every 30 seconds
    -knock back myself 20 yards every 45 seconds
    -be able to root you for 5 seconds every 20 seconds
    -heal myself without ever running out of mana or whatever
    -have 2 endurance increasing buffs

    So melee, how do you beat me? No really I want to know, I want to play melee and beat this.

    Stun lock.

    And if someone truly wishes to limit themselves to pure melee that is their issue. Nothing stopping them changing roles to something that facerolls you.

    Champion/Void Knight? Maybe splashing Paladin for the 3s ranged stun? Using terrain to minimize required engagement distance?

    Optionally, the melee could just opt to not be in a 1v1 fight.

    Only matters in 1v1, if that happens in open world, there's tons of terrain to exploit. If it happens in a warfront, your team is playing wrong.
    A foe without honor is a foe already beaten.

    well as a warrior ill pull you to me every 8 seconds and in 2 warriors cases OUT dps you from range. As a sin or NB paired with riftstalker any CD you blow to get away will immediatly get countered by teleports.


    The reason marksman are so good now is they are a soul that literally gets just about everything they need by 35 after 35 as a MM pretty much everything you get is just passive stuff to increase your damage. Lots of other souls especially melee arent as lucky to get everything they need midway through the game. A NB or Sin cant get all there tricks then go up riftstalker for there survivability and mobility at lvl 35.

    For melee rogues:

    -shoot you from 35 yards away
    Stealth
    -run 70% faster every 21 seconds (not to mention break snares)
    Blind or dark containment, wait it out
    -run 20% faster at all times
    Both nightblades and assassins have a snare
    -run 20% faster (it stacks with the others) whenever i shoot a finisher
    Again snare
    -teleport 15 yards ahead of me every 45 seconds
    Most melee rogues choose riftstalker so it cancels out
    -knock people away from me every 30 seconds
    Not sure about this, shadow stalk if someone specs for it, I personally don't...although I have both dark countainment and blind.
    -knock back myself 20 yards every 45 seconds
    Err I dunno which skill does this
    -be able to root you for 5 seconds every 20 seconds
    I spec for nightblade so dusk to dawn
    -heal myself without ever running out of mana or whatever
    Not enough to heal the burst, especially since it's a party heal
    -have 2 endurance increasing buffs
    Can't really counter this except to stab moar

    But you also have to consider that i'm not just tip-toeing around the melee with nice
    little attacks every once in awhile, the melee is getting pounded in the face, unless
    they can take me down in one giant burst 100% to 0%, I'm not really finding it possible
    to compete...I mean I suppose the 3s stun would get some damage on me, but its
    easily possible to just slip away after words and heal up while running around them in circles.

    Also, its true the melee just don't want to fight, but if seen, the ranged with have the advantage.
    Even if they try to run on their mounts, we have the root for 5 seconds to stop that.

    And like I said, I really am looking to a solution to this class, because I want melee to have a viable counter.

    there is no kiting anyone with 10 points in warlord. or as a rogue 32 points in riftstalker.

    Marksmen survivability comes from their mobility. Any marksmen that allows a melee character to come into range will be knocked down to critical health once that stun lock is over. Plus, warriors have charges that will allow them to get into range. All mages are ranged. Majority of clerics are ranged. And majority of rogue soul combination's include ranged attacks.

    Like someone said above, going pure melee is gimping yourselves. But all the archetypes have the ability to close in on a ranged soul.

    -What is allowing you to run 20% faster from shooting a finisher? IF you mean hasted shot, its a 30% increase, and its used situationally, like when you want to run. You would have to be stupid to not be using deadeye shot instead.

    -You cant knock yourself back 20 yards every 45 seconds because you dont have 51 points in marksmen.

    -How are you healing yourself without running out of mana. Last time I checked bard does group support heals, and not main target primary heals. So unless you use riff + virtuouso(which you dont have because you are only 30 pt bard) and spam your coda of restoration, you wont be able to heal yourself enough to survive good burst.

    I could list some more things but basically, you are one ret.arded troll who has no clue how that build would work and you are just trying to blow smoke up everyones as.s, making nubs think that OMG you made an unkillable my melee ranged spec WOW!

    16 points into rift stalker and you get 2 blinks to the guy and the starting one I hope as you can kill him by then.

    You get someone who is actually good at PvP to play your game for you. This person probably wouldnt ask question like this.

    at 32 you get 3 blinks to the target and the option to leave the fight whenever you want.
