The PvE build is a solo PvE build. I don't tend to group a lot so it has a balance of DPS (primary) and defense (rift absorption and healing bumps for leeching poison).

    My Hit and Run

This will be the build I will be running with. Yeah it doesn't have a pvp soul but I am hoping it wont be needed. Between sap, rift prison and blinding powder you can keep 3 ppl locked down at least for a bit. You get a 3 combo point assassinate which can lead to a 5 combo point finisher in 2 globals if followed up with puncture. The problem I see with your build is the run part. Riftstalker blink + movement speed + freedom + slip away seems like a pretty solid get away.

Another PvE build made by me:

Still not sure on the effectiveness. I only played in the latest beta until lvl 15.

Here was my take on an assassin PvE (group/raid) build:
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M....M.Vi0A0soohbz

I should note, Unseen Fury can be switched out for Silent Footsteps for better CC'ing when you need to.
Also, The finishers are intended to be rotated, Deadly Strike, Dauntless Strike, and Impale to keep up buffs/debuffs.
Keen Strike + Quick Strike to build combo points. Most of the damage comes out of poisons and bleeds, so fast weapons are likely preferred for more poison procs.

I should also mention that a Ranger/Assassin build is pretty viable it seems.

    long term PVP build

    sin/ranger/infil

i really think the thing holding the assassin back right now are lack of interupt and heal debuff - despite a somewhat underwhelming performance in PVP compared to a sab (conc charge = easy kiting), i dropped an 880 crit with final blow with this build in beta.

    edited- fixed link!

    PvE

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M....V0xo.VV0Vzs0o

This build should maximize melee dps, provide gap closing abilities, and has some good ae and range abilities if needed. You also have 2 30 second incapacitates.

Except you can only have 1 incapacitate up at the same time, regardless if its a different skill from a different tree, if you use the second, the first is removed. Tested.

Completely wrong. You obviously didn't try it. Worked fine for me last beta when I used Incapacitate on one mob and Last Hope on another.

My Assassin/Nightblade/Riftstalker. Should work well for most occasions. Its mostly a max melee dps build, not the greatest for CC or self heals/tanking style play, mostly hit 'n run or instances where a tank will hold agro.

I like some of these other builds too

Although admittedly lacking on "get aways" I planned more on catching up than getting away.

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1M...ARftobod0o.V0x

Massive burst damage with ~750 final blow crit 31 points in (Level 31).
Open with a 3-point paralyzing strike (or assassinate depending on the situation) -> puncture for an instant Final Blow further buffed by Cloak and Dagger -> Foul Play -> x2 Backstab -> Malicious Strike -> Savage Strike -> Puncture -> Final Blow

Although mentioned once in this example rotation, be sure that Malicious Strike is constantly applied when needed.

    Utility options:
Slip Away as a get away or for a second stealth open while enemy is under effects of Foul Play.
    Sprint as another get away.
Side Steps as an oh crap button.
Blade Tempo for 30% damage increase for 15s.
Flash of Steel is a MAJOR ability which if coupled with Malicious strike should ensure you are never kited.
    Weapon Barrage for casters.
Blinding Powder for runners, kiters, or adds
Fiery Spike for a tid bit of ranged damage and combo points when closing the gap.
Poison Malice for additional damage buff via poison (also increases healing received if using Leeching Poison)

    Buffs granted:
Combat Pose for self buff on Dexterity
Combat Preparation for addition Dexterity buff on self and group

    Passive stat boosts:
    Ruthlessness - 5% Crit
    Quick Reflexes - 5% Dodge
Combat Expertise - 5% Hit chance, nothing worse than missing that crucial rotation ability like Puncture or Foul Play and waiting for a cooldown
Ambidextrous - 15% additional Dexterity (coupled with Combat Pose and Combat Preparation show huge buffs on Dexterity and in turn crit rate and damage dealt)

As well as other various modifiers making your hapless target fall in seconds and unable to flee if they didn't.
The one thing I might change would to add Counterbalance due to the 3 Rhythmic abilities, 10 Seconds off the 30 second exhaustion would be great, not sure where to move from though if any. Maybe 1 point from either Serrated Blades or Cruel Vengeance.

It didn't in beta 4. I didn't bother to test it in beta 5 or 6 though, so must have changed.
