Default Melee bonuses, no ranged bonuses on rogue gear?

+ melee crit chance, + melee attack power, etc

Not only on armor but also on bows.

Why not bows with +ranged attack etc?

Maybe +ranged attack is to be found on swords?

It seems i'm not the first to notice:

If "melee" really means "physical", so that it does work for ranged, then the naming of those stats is confusing.

Also, i was unable to find a suitable bow ~lvl 25+. Guns a plenty, no bows.

That is something I'd like answered, myself.

Went Artificer with my Rogue(wanted to check it out). I was checking out the kind of stuff I'd be able to make later on and most of the melee stuff either had parry, dodge or melee hit/crit/attack power.

In case anyone is wondering: casters will get a larger benefit from Artificer. Only one or two things each level range was remotely useful for me.

    What gives?
Don't tell me you ranged rogues didn't notice you're running around in +melee bonus gear, and don't tell me you don't care about ranged bonus.

Hopefully 'melee' in those stats are typographical errors meant to say 'physical'. if they simply forgot to make ranged gear stats... wtf

    Melee is physical attack.
+melee helps bows/guns etc just like Swords.
A bow is considered by rift as a "melee" damage.

    Along similiar lines:
Although I'm not sure if for casters that Wands are from Spellpower or melee.. (doesnt matter so much because wands are useless)

yes, if you look at your characters stats, you will only see melee crit and melee attack power. I think it is suppost to be physical crit and physical AP.

That would make it a lot clearer, as its correct Melee crit/ap effects Bow attacks

it makes itemisation a bajillion times easier instead of looking for ridiculous amounts of kit specifically for Ranged, when they could have the same stat cover both.

Obviously, in dungeons it means more competition, but who cares!

This is a prime example of rdps rogue player quality !

"Hi I'm an rpds rogue and have no idea what my stat contribution is, I'm top dps every WF, however."

Melee power is melee/range power by the way. It may get it's name changed to "physical" since you guys have a hard time hovering your cursor over the stat.
