There are a couple Ranger guides in the guides section, unlike some other souls, the 65 Ranger builds will easily translate into leveling builds. Use their builds as a template for point allocation, some things will not align at low levels, common sense apply points and move on, it will all work out as you level up.

Thus far Ive used ranger/sab with planar variation and only used that for self heals. Picked animalism as legendary at 66. Using divert rage if I get adds while my razorbeast is already having agro on other mobs. Also vampiric drain(?) weapon enchant from PA. And the pet buff that gives you health from pet damage.

Thus far Ive only really died on the collect banner quest in Gedlo Badlands due to 8+ pulls by mistake. At level 68 atm.

They're sub level 30 so none of this is really useful information.

Yeah I only knew because they mentioned their level in another thread they had started on the topic.

Hey, sorry for the late answer, just saw your thread earlier today, hope it can still be useful.

I dont know if you have the paid souls (like physician) or not, so im going to include both f2p and paid versions.

First off, starting with the f2p version, you are going to pick Assasin-Ranger-Riftstalker.

First, point distribution (just gonna start from level 1, since i dont know your level)
    Spoiler!

If you have Physician, you might want to go with this, bit less dps, but less chances of dying:
    Spoiler!

    L61 Mastery point:
Aggressive defence, because of the free absorb and the buff to shadow fire
    L62 Mastery point:
Ascenses biology, you get healed bit more, and also gain a lil extra attacking range.
    L63 Mastery point:
Juke and Run, you get a small speed buff on fights when dealing damage, and also the cooldown of your hasten call gets cut to half.
    L64 Mastery point:
Timed Focus, best choice for increasing your dps on this tier.
L65 Mastery: Either Planar Variation or Energy Manipulation, you can take Planar Conservation if you feel you are draining a lot.
Planar Variation is a nice self heal/aoe enemy damage, and manipulation is a nice ST dps boost.

    Buffs:
    F2P version:
(Sin)Virulent poison: Grants the weapon damaging abilities 50% chance to deal additional X damage.
(Ranger) Feral instincts: Increases the rogue and their pet's attack power and weapon damage by 4%.
(Ranger) Fleeting Instincts: Increases movement speed by 15%.
(RiftStalker) Planebound Resilience: increases Endurance by 200. (in short, gives 2k hp) (you wont have this anymore when you hit 65)
(Ranger) Hasten call: allows your next call to cost no energy and be instant.
(Ranger) Feral Instincts: Increases damage dealt by the rogue and their pet by 5%, decreases the damage they take by 5%
(Sin) Elusiveness: gretly decreases your chances of being discovered while stealthed
(Sin) Leeching Poison: Grants weapon ability damaging attacks a 50% chance to deal X damage and restore X health to the rogue
(Ranger) Ravenous instincts: increases critical damage and healing by 10%, and critical chance by 5%.
(Ranger) multiple instincts: allows you to have 2 instincs on at the same time.
(Ranger) spirit of the wilderness: 15% o f the damage your pet deals, is applied to you as healing.

Phys version: you lose stealth and the poisons plus resilience, and get
Preventive medication: when hit, you get an absorb shield taking 85 of the damage up to X amount of your health.
Side steps: increases dodge chance by 50% for 15 secs, 1. min 30 sec cd

    Combat buffs:
Feral Aggression: increases damage and crit chance of your pet by 50%, and grants them immunity to fear and confuse. 15 seconds
Animalism: Increases the damage of rogue and their pet by 40%, 15 seconds.

    Utilities:
Stealth: allows you to roam around free for a bit without aggro ing, dont draw too close to enemies until you get silent footsteps on soul tree

Rejuvenation: everytime you cast a finisher, your pet will get healed for X amount over 8 seconds

Divert rage: transfers all the threat you will get in the next 10 seconds to your pet
Note: this wont transfer the threat you already have on yourself.
    Pin down: 5 second root
    Concussive blast: aoe interrupt.
Diffuse: transfers all damage dealt to you in 10 secs to your pet
    Note: doesnt affect aoe damage.
Incapitate: sin stealth ability, incapitates target enemy for 45 secs or until damaged, won't break stealth.

Phys version: you lose Incapitate, stealth and get
    Detoxification: an st cleanse

    Damage dealing Builders:
Quick shot: your main and only ST spam ability, deals X to X damage. Grants one combo point.

Trick shot: your spam mutliple target spam. Drains energy quite fast, the more targets it hits, the more chances of giving an additional combo point. Max 5 targets

Piercing shot: deals X damage, decreases armor on enemy based on your level, 30 sec cd

Splinter shot: bleeds X damage over 10 seconds, 1.5 sec cast until you spec 2/2 into fast and furious, becoming instant then. Keep up at all times

Ace shot: Deals X to X damage and adds a debuff that causes the enemy to take 8% more damage from the Rogue and 40% more damage from the Rogue's pet. Lasts 15s. Awards 1 Combo Point. Keep up at all times
Shadow fire: deals X to X damage, grants 2 combo points, increases your ranged damage by 5% for 30 secs, 20 sec cd. 2 sec cast until you spec fast and furious. Your damaging abilities have a 40% chance to reset the cooldown of Shadow Fire and improve the damage of the next Shadow Fire within 6 seconds by 30%. This effect can only trigger once every 6 seconds. With aggressive defense mastery, Shadow Fire increases Ranged Damage by 10%. When Shadow Fire is procced, it deals 35% more damage.

    Phys version:
Medicinal leeching: damages enemy for X over 8 secs and heals you for X over 8 secs

    Damaging finishers
Headshot: deals additional damage per combo point, increases your pet's damage by 5%, if you spec into bestial fury, the damage increase applies to yourself too.

Twinshot: Fires 2 shots and deals additional damage per Combo Point with each shot.
Due to opportunity soul tree speccing, your ranged finishers have a 20% chance to grant an additional combo point.

Aoe damaging ability (doesnt grant combo points, better than trick shot in manners of multiple target damage an energy saving, best if used when targets are not moving.

    Phys version:
Builder healing ability: active treatment: heals for X amount, generating a combo point
Finisher: maintenance therapy: heals additional amount per combo point, applies a HoT to target for 6 seconds.

Heal: urgent care: heals for X amount, doesnt generate a combo point, 10 sec cd, can be downed to 6sec with speccing improved urgent care.

Note: your trick shot or ace shot apply a special buff from your active pet for 15 seconds.
Don't have access to the game right now so dont know exact buff percentages
    Raptor: increases your dps.
    Boar:decreases the damage you take
    Wolf: increases runspeed
Griffon: decreases aoe damage taken, pretty useless.

    Rotation:
Until you havent specced into fast n furious, your splint shoy and shadow fire are on cast.
    Open with 5 combo points,
Headshot -> Shadow fire -> splinter shot -> ace shot -> piercing -> twin shot
Then it pretty much goes on a keeping up dots mode, you just need to keep up ace and splinter plus bestial fury. refreshing just on their timer, and pop shadow fire procs. Popping twin shot in 5 cp
Note: don't pop shadow fire procs if you are on 4-5 combo points

On phys version, use medicinal and other heals when you or your pet need healing.

In a total, have your boar around, if you are feeling easy and feel that enemies arent hitting hard, send in the wolfie until you get raptor. You have enough resists and your pets help you not getting damage, if you are feeling that your demise is close on open world, quickly cast diffuse, mount, ride away and approach more carefully.

Macros: Ranger isnt really macro friendly, just a lil few
Macroing shadow fire is a no go since you might waste the proc on 4 or 5 CP.

    #show twin shot
    Cast feral aggression
    Cast animalism
    Cast twin shot

    #show rain of arrows
    Cast @gtae rain of arrows

Only use this above macro for immobile targets, if they are moving,
It is adviced to target RoA manually.

    #show pin down
    Cast @gtae pindown

    #show call: greater razorbeast
    Cast hasten call
    Cast call: greater razorbeast

    #show call: greater dire wolf
    Cast hasten call
    Cast call: greater dire wolf

    #show call: blood raptor
    Cast hasten call
    Cast call: blood raptor

(Select a random pics from the provided list on macro)
    Petfollow
    Petattack

Some people might tell you to add the last macro lines to all macros possible, given the pets sometimes get stuck on their own and wont deal any damage or anything
Why i have its macro on a separate button totally? Because on soloing/leveling stuff you sometimes dont want some enemies to be close to each other and alike, if you dont care bout that just do the macros like this
    #show quick shot
    Petfollow
    Cast quick ****
    Petattack
Just so that your pet would attack exactly the target you are attacking right now.

    Some notes about pet abilities:
    Raptor:
    Charges enemies
    Makes them bleed
    Has an aoe attack ability

    Wolf:
    Decreases enemy hit by 5%
    Decreses enemy healing received,
    Deals mediocre dmg
    Best used for pvp purposes.

    boar:
    Charges
    Has plenty of taunts attached

Griffon: same as raptor, but ranged and doesn't charge

Hope it all helped you, not the best build/guides around i know, someone might have better ones,
But these ones have served me greatly.

Hope you enjoy and it helps you, took me a good 4 hours to write on my broken phone.

Planar attunement, which you start getting at level 50, and bring up the menu by U, basically some fluff stats and some useful abilities.
if you want to have a guide on how to develope it, you can read Anizia's guide here
    good luck
