Default Rogue Kalert sets for my favorite roles

These are full kalert sets for some of my favorite rogue roles that I play frequently. To use, copy from the beginning of the KA: to the end of the block of text/letters. Then in your kalert addon, go to an unused set, click 'file' and then 'import set'. Paste in the text you've just copied, and click 'Import'.

You can click 'edit layout' and simply drag the kalerts around your screen as you wish. Take note that some of the kalerts are layered---2 or 3 kalerts on top of each other (eg: a kalert for when an ability is ready; one for its duration [like a 10 second buff]; and one for its cooldown [say, 1 minute]). If you want them to be stacked perfectly, drag one of the layered kalerts, then give the other 1 or 2 kalerts the exact same coordinates as the newly placed one.

The #s or letters above some kalerts correspond to the hotkeys I use to refresh a skill/buff/etc. EG, for bard, my Orchestra kalert for bard has an H above it, because H is the hotkey I press to use Orchestra. Change these letters/numbers to match your own key binds, or remove them, whichever you prefer.

Ahhhhh yes, you can get maybe 1 or 2k more dps with that distribution of points. Small problem.

Have you ever actually played assassin with zero movement speed skills?

    Just not worth it.

Nearly every fight, even the straight up burn ones, has a bit of movement, and without that speed it hard to prevent disconnects.

I tried the 'best' version and went back very quickly to the version with the run speed buff.

Somehow even I never found an issue with movement speed of 61sin/11ranger/4nb
Insoles, moving in time with the boss, and Leaping Plunge to catch up if the boss is yanked significantly or if you need to switch to target that is further away.
    But, guess, it's personal prefferences...

For any target that moves for more than a second, if you become a few meters behind, you CANNOT catch up to it if it continues to move, without the speed buff.

Leaping plunge will teleport you to where the mob/boss was when you hit the skill, so for a target that is still moving, you are still behind, and if it moves in a straight line, you can't catch up till it stops.

For experts maybe the highest dps version (agian the difference is very minor) is alright, but in raids where you might conceivably use assassin...

ungolok---need to leave red bubbles sooner because no speed skill, which means more attacks at ranged & less dmg done
drekanoth---difficulty getting behind pillar in time
finric---during add phase, takes you way too long to get the corals and back

jinoscoth---if you need to cleanse, without speed buff you have a very long disconnect while running into yellow circles

murdantix---keeping up with boss very difficult without speed now & then, especially when the tank makes a big pull to clear boss from lots of green circles that have built up
sicaron---time lost depositing the red circles (arguably this boss is the one case where the highest dps build wouldn't suffer too much)

And if you want to use 61 sin in open world content like nmr bosses (good luck keeping up with bosses that move around all the time) or zone events (escaping boss aoe is a challenge) or rifts in general (moving between mobs is slow) or pvp (impossible without speed)...

Yeah. The speed is worth it.

No, either gives same stats. An 11th point in ranger (2% attack power & wep contribution) or a 5th point in nb (2% attack power & wep contribution) derp.

Yeah, I know. Wasn't being serious. Anyway, I do find playing Sin a bit tougher without the movement speed, so maybe I'll try your movement spec and see how much of a difference it makes.

I've never personally had that kind of issues. Anthem of Competence, Insoles and Leaping Plunge should be enough.

You should be just fine without any personal movement speed utility, once you're more comfortable with the fight and know how to plan out your movement in advance.

Also I personally wouldn't sacrifice my dps for slight personal comfort in progress raids. There's also Mirrors (Charged Mirror, Lasher's Bane Mirror) I can use if needed.

Besides there's no reason to go 61sin on all of those bosses you listed, unless you really want to play 61sin.

Bottom point being, 61sin/11rng/4nb isn't unplayable in PvE by any means.

I used to go nb/sin on Ungolok, and can't see why not nb/sin on Jino too. There's your disconnect issues solved and extra teleport to get to the yellow zone, if you use that cleansing tactic.
Haven't noticed undealable issues on the fights I did play sin. It's usually hard the first time but after that - not really, as mostly you can predict the movements. And hitboxes are usually big enough to buy you some extra time to react.
On those NMR bosses that teleport around, no movement speed will help me to catch up.
Like I said - it's probably personal prefferences. Just please don't state that using the 11ranger/4nb is "not worth it" because you can't keep up with the boss, as some players don't find such issues.

As for original post - I think it's nice of you to have shared the alerts, I hope some rogues find them useful.

I agree, though I'm one of those players that really wants to play 61 Sin. It's my favorite spec to play and I use it on as many bosses as I can. I really only use leaping plunge plus insoles and such, so I'm losing a little bit of dps due to being forced out of melee range. I'm going to try his build next time I raid and see if the movement buff from MM affects my dps. Knowing the disconnects I get personally, I don't think it will be worth the dps loss, but I'll try anyway. And you're right. If you know the fights, you should know when and where the boss is going to move (for example, a good tank on TF will tell the raid where he's headed with the boss so you can plan ahead). So it's not the greatest because your only ranged options suck (quick shot, fiery spikes, head shot), but knowing the fight makes a world of a difference. I'll probably play more nb/sin once I finally get it down (it's been a long, slow process), but for now, I enjoy Sin and it's very competitive even with disconnects.

Id say its slightly more than 2k....

Kinda hard to not have speed bufs in a raid, i mean speed buff from bard/oracle, insoles etc etc

Whats not worth it is to lose dps for no reason.

lets asume you really want to play 61 sin instead of nbsin.

Ungolock- you can keep mele attacking while moving out, you are gonna spend 1-2gcds tops doing swift shots and then you are back into mele(hit box??) so you intentionally lose 3k dps just to cut 1 swift shot?

    drekanoth- leaping plunge maybe??

finric: seriously? wheter u have speed buff or not it doesnt matter at all.you are gonna be slow anyway and you sacrifice dps just to come back 2 seconds faster?

jinoscoth: cleansing in the yellow its a suboptimal tactic to begin with.

Murdantix: its hitbox is hugeeeeeee, you shouldnt have any kind of problems keeping up.

Sicaron:Leeping plunge maybe?not to mention that using subpar subsouls is gonna gimp your dps.

Tell me how you'd leaping plunge to something you can't target (hiding behind pillars with drek).

Another big bonus to have speed with 61 sin is when soloing any sort of low level instance for plat... you can stealth + run fast through all the mobs.

Maybe you think of yourself as the god of Rift with lightning fast reaction times and 200% prediction ability on where the boss will move from moment to moment, so you never need to use speed... but realistically? From time to time as a 61 sin you'll be chasing a moving target and no amount of leaping plunge or passive 10% speed buff is gonna let you catch up till that target stops moving.

So sure, for fights with 'no' movement where that extra tiny bit of dmg is 'critical' use the alternate spec... but for 'most' content the speed is invaluable, imo.

Do I really need to mention that the REASON most ppl use nb/sin or full nb is BECAUSE 61 sin has problems with disconnects in so many situations? Speed helps fix a lot of those disconnects... and if you CAN safely use 61 sin, its definitely higher deeps than nb/sin so it can be worth doing. Also funner spec period lol.

Anyways discussion has veered off topic a little bit... it began as a thread about kalerts, which are good for sin regardless of which spec you use lol...

Oh you were talking about hide mechanic...you mean that BIG blue AOE that its glowing ages before you actually have to hide? if you need a speed buff to get there, what you lack is raid awareness. Also 8% WD/AP is not a "tiny dps loss"

Weve been using 61 assasin without speed buffs since wildernes training was change and we havent had any problems. i mean 28% speed buff only from insoles and anthem of competence....

BTW 61 assasin is not higher dps than nbsin even in a dummy boss, hint:non physical dmg sub30% boost dmg. Theres only 2 bosses i can think of where 61 assasin is clearly better than nbsin, sicaron and last boss IGP(at least HM). This doesnt mean you cant use 61 asasin on pretty much every boss it means that in most bosses 61nb or nbsin are just better.

Seems you dont want to listen and actually learn something out of this thread.
