    Default Bard with attack pet?

Just thought i would play around with starting a bard. But i notice it doesnt come with a attack pet. Is it worth putting a soul with a pet on so that when im casting/singing the pet can keep the mobs off me?

I have a couple of bards I play that way. This is due solely to the amount of lag I have to deal with (averages a couple of seconds on a GOOD day) - in order to stay alive, I need the pet to tank.

You have to maneuver as you get higher in level so you get enough points to get the greater pets. I've found a bard handled this way very viable for solo play which is all I do.
People who circumscribe their lives to conform to the narrow expectations of others get exactly what they deserve.

Yeah i mostly solo unless i spot a rift. But otherwise solo. So i might look into adding a soul with a pet. Maybe ranger soul. Get the pig running for me lol

I think Bard hybrids better with NB than ranger. However, some solo specs will probably perform reasonably well.

    Maybe this

    41bard/24 ranger/11MM

    Buffs:Feral instincts/RangedCombatMastery/ + Fanfares + Motifs
    Pet: Greater Razorback (tank)
    -----DPS:
    to build: powerchord/Cadenza
to finish: Virtuoso + Coda of wrath......

or a more ranger heavy build
    http://rift.magelo.com/en/soultree#z...yBgFhh0/A|XIT0

    Buffs:Feral instincts/ + Fanfares + Motifs
    Pet: Blood Raptor (Dps)
    -----DPS:
to build: Splintershot (refresh when it falls off)
    then macro
    #show shadow fire
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast shadow fire
    cast powerchord
    cast verse of agony
    cast cadenza

    finish at 5cps

to finish: Virtuoso + Coda of wrath
    #show virtuoso
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast virtuoso
    cast coda of wrath

    This maybe a fun specc.
    Try it out..

The only really significant things to do for leveling are 8 points into RS for boosted recovery, and 4 into Tact to get Curative Engine. This will be all the self healing you need, and will do more to help you than a pet ever will. If you don't have tact, just continue to put the points into RS to reduce your damage taken, or another dps soul for increased damage.

I would probably say there are 3 ways to go for levelling:

    1. 4tact, 8RS - then full Assa or NB.

    2. full ranger

    3. full bard

    all do great.

Pig always died too fast or didnít hold agro well enough for me to use it for leveling. Id say go full NB its burst damage will melt any thing of equal or 1-3 levels up fast enough where you barely get hit. Or you could use Grandpa said knock you out if you want to farm with no downtime. If you wanting bard it has good enough healing built in and if you have either of the paid souls you get a bit more to where you shouldn't worry about single or double pulls of world mobs at your level.
