Default I would like a build...

for soloing chronicles, questing, and some support/healing for invasions n such.

I'm looking for something Tact heavy, as I prefer range and would like to give Tact a try.

Most Tact builds are fairly outdated though, can anyone suggest a decent build?

I agree. I'll be completely honest and say I bought Tactician when it came out because I wanted the cool flamethrower but I don't use Tactician for anything other than a subsoul or phystact hybrid. If you want to use Tactician for a solo spec, the best thing I can recommend is to play around with it and see what works.

    Pretty much this.

Heavy tactician, good damage output, and adequate survivability. Pick the two out of that list that you want, because no build has all three.

Maybe try a bard/nb hybrid. I sometimes run a 48 bard/28 nb in WFs to provide some support. It can provide a surprising amount of punch when you don't waste your finishers on AE heals.

Ty for the responses, I guess heavy Tact is out.

What about a build that leans much more to the survivable side, rather than kill speed, range or melee.

My main goal is to have something for the tougher stuff, TG Elites, 2 man Chronicles, etc.
