    Default Rogue Off-Hand Contribution

Just wanted to point something out and see if anyone has definitive answers to this. I have noticed this since swapping mains to rogue on 3.0 release.

Off-hand weapons contribute to dps in all builds, ranged (contribution seems lower to ranged?) or melee. It doesn't seem to be impacted by weapon dps of that weapon but rather a flat contribution on abilities just for having it equipped.

    Example:

    Costume Weapon with 0 stats

Blazing Strike with 0 stat off hand weapon

Blazing Strike without off hand weapon equipped

Blazing Strike with Dreambreaker off hand (Increase seems in line with Dex/Str stat increase.)

When going to something like Marksman the increase value is on a much lower scale but it is there.

Does anyone have the low down on how this actually works?

How does this impact future scaling if the values are static?

Why is it affecting ranged builds?

For melee if you wield only one weapon it counts the weapon dps as it is. If you wield a second weapon you get a *1.3 modifier to your main melee weapon dps contribution as a bonus for dual wielding.

For ranged I think you're are just getting the PA bonuses to AP for wielding a weapon so your stats are different.

If I remember right the off-hand is merely a stat stick for rogues in most cases, giving stat boost without contributing its weapon DPS. The exception is for Bladedancers and Riftstalkers, both of whom have abilities with damage that uses off-hand or combined weapon damage.

That's interesting, until Vladd mentioned that the Warrior issues in regards to 2H vs. duel wielding was also affecting Rogues I wasn't even aware we used such a mechanic. Since there was a bug with this prior to last hotfix or so, could the issue have extended even further into BD due to Binary and Double Strike being the only skills I know of that are labeled to use combined weapon dps? Something just feels off about where BD's ST is, like it didn't scale as well as it should have.

As others have said, offhands are stat sticks and your dps is calculated from 1.3* mainhand if you dual wield.

Only exception is bladedance, which specifically uses offhand dps or combined dps for some attacks.
