    Default Preliminary Marksman Changes on PTS

    Marksman changes are up on the PTS. Go check them out.

    (Some things are bugged. Feedback should probably be focused on the intended function. Nor are these all of the changes-- Decoy has not yet been replaced, for instance.)

    Cool. Is there a list of these available or should i just dig through the soul tree.

    Changes i am seeing at first glance.

    1. Sentry Battery changed to Strafe with a movement speed reduction. Damage very similar to Strafe.
    Should deal considerably more damage than strafe this deep in the tree. I like the idea of the movement speed reduction.

    2. Debilitate added to deaden
    Adding Utility?

    3. Bulls Eye changed to a 25% critical hit increase for 5 seconds
    Change this to a 4 stack buff of 25% critical hit chance per stack. A flat increase for 5 seconds means this ability just got a strong dose of rng.

    4. On the Double applies a shield
    I like this better than the speed.

    My main concerns in Marksman were a heavier reliance on a 51 point weapon buff due to mastery interaction (30% damage debuff total that is brutal on target swaps) opposed to the 58 point weapon buff. This along with the wonky cooldown timers. Neither of these seem to be addressed at this time.

    Sentry Battery: changed to a 4 second single target channel, 56 second cooldown (80 untalented).
    Bull's Eye: 56 second cooldown (80 untalented), increases critical hit chance by 25% for 5 seconds.
    Hasty Departure -> Guarded Departure: On the Double grants an absorb shield when used.
    Lightning Fury: generates a combo point.
    Deaden: no longer requires a successful interrupt to debilitate but has 45 second per target cooldown on the debilitate.

    At the moment Sentry Battery is way too weak, it should do about triple its current damage. Part of the weakness comes from Shoot to Kill not affecting it now.
    Deaden is bugged and you can't even use it on the same target more than once per 45 seconds now instead of only the debilitate having the blocker.

    These are not the full changes that MM should be getting either. At least there's plans to change Decoy to something else, adjust some cooldown times etc.

    So as not to confuse anyone, On the DOuble still is a speed boost but the talent Guarded Departure replaces Hasty Departure and instead of providing extra run speed in stacks it gives On the Double a shield component.

    changing bring nothing that makes the spec more enjoyable, a worse version of strafe that doesn't give the CC immunity and lowers your movespeed while using it lol wtf, some rng fun and nothing else important. dps is still terrible compared to the ranged dps of other classes and even still worse than ranger when ranger gets energy starved and MM doesn't. try again.

    1. Dont fix what ain't broken. Here's a list of abilities which imo need some tweaks.

    * Strafe:

    Now a stand still channell ability like Inq Nysyr's, dmg adjusted and ability description updated (since it doesnt grant any immunity anyway)

    * Decoy: Removed

    New ability: <insert random name> Upgrade to Deadeye Finisher which gives "X" stacks of <insert random name> each stack increases the dmg of cast time and channeling attacks by "X" % for "X" seconds.

    Deadeye is now 2s cast time ability, can be interupted, dmg increased.

    * Chain Destruction: Removed

    New ability: <insert random name> Increases the dmg of all AoE attacks 0.4% for every point spent in Marksman tree.

    * Sentry Battery:

    Now have a 90s base cd (before reduction), Dmg greatly increased, movement speed reduced by 70% while channeling. Can be interupted but it cannot miss. (Dmg type, AIR)

    * Barbed Shot:

    Reworked in to Physical dot with a debuff causing the target to take additional 3% more dmg from Ranged and Melee attacks. "X" sec cd, "X" sec duration.

    * Hasty Daparture: Swapped tier with Ranged Combat Mastery and reworked in to improvent to Marksman AoE attacks.

    - All Markman AoE attacks will now spread the debuff and dot from Barbed Shot up to 8 nearby enemies.

    * Ranger Combat Mastery:

    Ranged finishers now deal additional 20% more dmg if target is below 30% health.

    * Free Recoil:

    Additionally apply all stacks of Silver Tip Munitions on first attack. (This will reduce the problem of target swapping once in a while)

    So now we basically put this in all macro right

    are this change just to make MM less fun to play with same damage

    dunno what the point of these changes are are. what's mm supposed to be? why is it being changed? what are the intentions here?

    the first thing i'd like to suggest is that the reliance on silver tip munitions and the mastery need to go, 5 gcd's for a target switch/a 5 stack debuff on our target before we're at full dps is stupid.

    Was hoping for a complete soul rework rather than some minor changes.

    The last change to MM was the removal of the minimal range of 3m you had to be from the target in order to deal damage, which was just removal of the 3m from abilities and a single talent change to 2% buff.

    These PTS Changes:
    • 24 Points: Deaden - No Global Cooldown - Target is debilitated for 5s. Cannot be targeted by Deaden again for 45s. Cooldown 10s
    • 32 Points: Lightning Fury - Deals x to x Air damage to up to 5 enemies. Reduces Armor by 4800 for 15s on each enemy hit. Awards 1 Combo Point. Cooldown 10s
    • 54 Points: Sentry Battery - 4.0s Channel - Deals x to x damage over 4s. Reduces movement speed by 50% while channeling. Awards 1 Combo Point instantly and 1 Combo Point per second channeled. Cooldown 1m, 20s
    • Tier 3 - Guarded Departure - 1 Point - On the Double now applies an absorb shield to you when cast, absorbing 50% of damage received up to an amount based on your Attack Power. Lasts 15s
    • Tier 6 - Bull's Eye - 1 Point - No Global Cooldown - Increases your Critical Hit chance by 25% for 5s. Cooldown 1m, 20s

    Deaden has been made into what Pyromancer and Reaver now has, once you used it applies a tracking buff to target letting you know how long of the 45s is left.

    Lightning Fury nothing note worthy.

    Sentry Battery deals less damage than Strafe, comes with a movement reduction, and has a longer cooldown than Strafe.

    Guarded Departure being tied into On the Double makes it's sound like a extra buff when you runaway, however it more likely that it will cause On the Double to be used on cooldown so your just using it for the shield it applies.

    Bull's Eye this feels incomplete; it's either going to stay a Critical hit on the next ability used, a Critical Damage buff for 5s or going to turn into what Shaman or Inquisitor has by providing stacks that increases Critical chance per stack.

    So a worse ability then strafe, a pointless lightning fury adding combo points, deadeye shot being turned into a rng fest, might be a dps increase, might not kind of deal. Deadeye being bugged at release isn't really good aswell :S
    And baking in the shield while removing 15% runspeed from Marksman a removal of runspeed but adding in a shield that will make utility worse due to the nature of it being used with the run speed buff.

    Not too impressed with this.

    Hopefully the god awful decoy will still get changed into something that mirrors your current attacks or barbed shot not needing the target moving.
    There is a huge gap between the ranged souls right now and even if you buff marksman this slightly it will not matter one single bit. At this rate you might bring marksman closer to ranger, but that is very little comfort when ranger is still weakest when compared to the other classes ranged specs.

    Would be nice if the rogue dev would post his updates and progress on the changes of the souls. Just some COMMUNICATION would be nice to hear.
