Default How good is tactician right now?

Does anyone use tactician for anything other than farming stuff?

    It's great for Ultane.

I use high Tact for PvP a lot. Generally I'm in 58Tact/18RS, but will also sometimes use 61Tact\15Bard

I use 61 Tact for Regulos just because it trivializes most Crash of Souls, provides nice, easy supplemental healing (I use Curative Torrent on RKM portal during Cursed Blows, do Restorative Bolt spam during Tentacle Storm, maybe do Resto Bolt spam using a mouseover macro if I notice the healers needing a little help right after the initial portal phase), and does excellent AoE for the Eyes/Spines. I have also run BD on Regulos, prior to downing him.

I still use a Tact-MM build for Matriarch, due to how our strategy is. I haven't seen Ultane yet so I can't say anything about that. Otherwise, for AoE situations, I use Sab, using a combination of Bitnine's macros/build and a 1 macro spammer (ST I use Bitnine's macros and for AoE I use a 1 button spammer except when I have charges already in place on the target, then I swap to Bitnine's macros).

It's still a terrible PvP spec compared to Marksman, though.

Matriarch. That's about it for either tactman or 61 tact.

This, tact is extremely underwhelming as a soul and what it offers or brings, it's crystal bonus is probably the worst in game.

We use 1 tact/mm on eggtenders just to keep keep the adds under control. Since you can nec bolt 3 eggs and 1 eggtender, which cleaves the adds, the st dps loss isnt as bad as it could be and it helps make sure you don't have a million annoying little adds running around. Other then that matriach and ultane are the only other encounters i see them used. They are still decent solo if you don't want to make a pure soling spec also, not as good as any of the true solo specs but better then pretty much any of our raid builds.

When I did dailies, I almost exclusively used tactman (outside of soloing the 5 man dailies in dendrome)

Most random queue dungeons I do in tactman as well, but mostly because its easy to keep up with a chain pulling tank and maintain good aoe on the move.

Raid wise, I use it in HM Gelidra, Twins, Matriarch, tried it on Ultaine (didn't really like it,) and.... i think that's about it.

Oh, and scumbag dps on Jult in TDQ. Only for pugs, though.

Generally swap to it for trash packs, though if I weren't tanking so often I'd probably go with sab instead for most trash packs.

    Refer to Riftstalker Crystal.

Nothing better than healing for 90 hp every time I do a filler CP builder.

    That's a whole 0.1% of my 90k raid buffed hp a swing!

I'm healing myself for 90 health every time I use a builder. And there's nothing you can do about it.

Would you happen to have a good tactman guide? I'm trying to learn it for Ultane and Proteus.

I don't recommend it for Ultane.

Even though we got our first few kills by having 3 rogues run Tactman, when torrent damage was reduced it just made the fight feel really slow.

We got Foreboding and Ult-imate on the same run with warriors and rogues using high ST specs and only ever having 2 turrets alive at any one time (except in the final phase).

If you're still looking for a Tactman guide, I wrote the original guide the day before SL was released, however that guide is out of date in parts. There has been one other guide that largely plagiarized my original work but is more recent.

They can both be found in the Rogue Guides section though you will likely have to search for them.

Oh yea you're guide was great I was using it before it got nerfed. I was looking for a more updated one and the "new tactman guide" you are referring to seems to have a lot of misinformation and not in depth enough. For example I am wondering about torrent clipping with the new tactman. With my testing it seems to be more dps. So I was just wondering if there's anymore things I may be missing. Thanks!
