    For leveling I am using 2 -

Saboteur/tactician(4)/any choice - great aoe and a lot of fun. Can be set up to only use 2-3 buttons most of time - more challenging encounters maybe 5-6 buttons. Once you get incriminate you can go nuts out of the gate with dps in groups. Very low survivability if you don't get the jump on stuff thought.

Assassin/tactician(up to curative engine(4))/riftstalker (up to guardian phase (8) - you can basically sneak anywhere you want with very good survivability (with slip-away). If I have to kill a guy deep in an area, is saves me killing 50 mobs with my saboteur build and probably dying a few times In the process. Not too button heavy, and once you get to around level 45-50, you really start chewing through mobs.

Anyway, that is what I am playing and why, a lot of fun and flexibility. I am sure others will have their opinions - I could not play marksman, I had a hunter in Wow and am sick of it.

In what aspect of the game are you looking at?

    Leveling? Raiding? PvP? Open World?

Leveling 1-50 : Ranger with the pig for ST and survivability / Tact for aoe, less survivability

Leveling 50-60 : http://forums.riftgame.com/game-disc...ling-spec.html (Only about 3-4 buttons with the macros)

PvP: Not really a set spec or an easy spec. Everything is situational. Sometimes you can use 2 buttons, sometimes 8.

Raiding: You are going to want to use a ranged spec if you want ease of use. Assassin is top Rogue DPS but has a kind of steep learning curve to understand disconnects and timing.

MM Spec: High utility and decent ranged damage. Not too many buttons to press and forgiving if you mess up. http://forums.riftgame.com/game-disc...rm-legion.html

Ranger Spec: High ranged DPS. If you follow this guide, you end up pressing about 5-6 buttons with the macro. Pretty simple spec to use when you have kalerts. http://forums.riftgame.com/game-disc...dps-guide.html
