    Default Question about preset souls

So I'm fairly new to the game, my rogue is level 36. I have been blindly using these preset soul trees that tell me where to spend all my points. I wanted to play a ranger style class so I am currently using Sharpshooter preset. I was just wondering if these builds are actually good or If I should be ignoring them and looking elsewhere?

The preset soul builds are pretty awful.

I can only comment for mages but for new players, our presets are not that bad. They get to the point and the distribution actually works well as you level.

so for leveling (again mages) the presets are just fine.

For endgame progression however you will want to branch out and create more specific and more optimal builds. That can take time but there are a lot of guides out there for you to basically copy and paste from.

I had a friend join and he's been using preset souls up to and through level 60. He doesnt raid, just dungeons, warfronts, chronicles and open world. The presets are just fine for that stuff.

Unfortunately, the rogue ones fail in a lot of ways.

They're fine for leveling, but even then, they're far from optimal.
