Default Bard - The Fun PvP healer.

I healed a Port of Sion last night, no Whet Stones or PA buffs, 1.33 million, Black Gardens in the 700,000 + for a couple of games. Throw in decent dps and the MM kite speeds and you can really fight. This new bard feels like someone wants bard to be a viable soul for PvP. I was kiting all night, getting KBs and of course my favorite role, offensive heals for an attack party.

If this capability is left alone, I will probably be a full time bard from here on in. It's a full stand alone soul now, thank you Trion!

It's viable healer in both PvP and PvE, but people still need some time to realize this.

bard right now is prbly the MOST FUN role of all classes. Honestly. Rotation, skills, possibilities, versatility is outstanding and its even well balanced IMHO.

Yeah, I have the most fun with bard out of all the rogue trees now.

You know what that means, right? It wont last.

That's what I am saying. I spent most of Rift 1.x guildless, there was no soul that was fun enough to keep my attention for a 20 hour a week raid slot so I PvPed the vast majority of the time. Now though, bard looks like a true stand alone soul meant for a specialist that knows how to fight. This is a soul for someone that knows big combat, able to change gears and focus based on the fight not what they are told to do. This is a soul for a specialist now, not the worse geared rogue in the raid.

I have that nagging feeling too, but with the Tactician soul being another swiss army knife and being too gifted, I hope they don't look at bards for a year or so while they whittle that soul away... =)

I put out garbage healing in WFs.

Too busy topping the DB charts with Cadenza.

Yep, I was kiting and dropping warriors with SS and HS for speed, Cadenza and VoA for killing. This synergy is what had me hooked. I don't need to blink bard now, I can keep a high bard build and stay alive to kill by kite and heal versus a heal killing RS hybrid. At first I was just healing, then I realized hey, this guy can drop hurt too. Loving it. So much flex.

I may need to change my name from marksman to bard on my main rogue toon. I like it that much.

Screw dps from other trees, killing them softly w/ his song imo.

First time I took my bard build into a Scion... "Brewmeister is on a Rampage!" Had to check the scoreboard - yeah 9-0 as a... bard??!

I'm still trying to find that sweet spot for those other 15-22 pts depending how I build it. SL is just going to make it pure bliss to play.

I can't remember the Tac tree but is the heal boost too far in to get both the 20% boosters on a full bard build? If it is, it may be a tac/bard hybrid for PvP and a 51 bard for PvE - kinda exactly what it was before, just more effective in heals.

I haven't played the new Bard myself, but from the heals I've gotten from Bards in some of the warfronts, I definitely approve of the changes, whatever those were lol.

Also, now that NDA is lifted, I can post this : http://rift.magelo.com/en/soultree/b...2#SkFlaBllaGy/

It has the new souls on it so you can look and see what kinda Bard / Tact you wanna make. Cheers
