    Default Need help prioritizing stats

Im a bit confuse on which stat(s) to focus on.

    1. Dexterity
    2. Attack Power
    3. PCrit.

where should the points go for plain raw dps, and for tanking?

    for DPS
Attack Power is king. know that for every point of dex or str, you get half a point of AP.

Before reaching the crit soft cap, dex is more valuable than str, since for every point of dex, you get 1 point of physical crit. Once you reach the crit soft cap (1186 with buffs) str and dex are equal in priority due to the diminished returns on crit.

For rogues, reaching the crit soft cap is very easy, I itemize every item I can to get AP instead of crit when available, and still sit over the soft cap.

For rogue tanking, you want endurance, then dex(boosts dodge and deflect). Str is really kind of pointless for rogue tanks since your parry will allways be very low and meh. But bigger HP pools help you soak up spike damage, and this game does not support avoidance tanking, since you eventually will get hit, sometimes you get hit hard several times in a row.

Actually, dex remains more valuable than strength after the crit softcap, although the gap narrows considerably.

Yes, you do still get *some* extra crit from dex past the soft cap, but this is a very small amount. In all reality when evaluating an item once you are past the crit soft cap, you look at total AP it will give, and str and dex give AP at the same rate. An exception to this is weapon dps, currently the dps of the weapon you use to deal damage has a huge impact on your dps. Each point of weapon dps is worth roughly 10 points of Attack Power. This is why whetstones, or even a razor's edge PA buff for rogue weapons is better than the storm glyph that only gives dex.

The fact that they give an equal amount of AP does not make them equal. Past the crit softcap, each point of crit is worth about .2 AP in terms of overall DPS output (this is for ranger, it varies for other souls). While that's not a huge amount, it's still enough that it should be taken into consideration.

I think someone just tried to argue that 1.1 is the same as 1.0

    ... maybe I'm crazy.

    It will all change soon.

Raw dps is crit to 1087 then AP noting dex gives 1 crit and .5 ap.
Tanking is all END>Dex > dodge > parry.

The dps prioritization will change when storm legion hits.

no tanking stats will always be same unless they make a new stat or make a certain stat useless. End>Dex>Dodge>Deflect>Parry

remember as of 1.11 it is 75% dex to AP according to PTS. Also look at your crit stat on dps. Well over crit cap on live, 25% crit chance on pts.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorius triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

Thread was started before 1.11 was out on PTS. AP will still be king, but soon dex will always be way more valuable than str to rogues.

Here's to hoping good itemization follows, at least most people should have plenty of PA that weapon type (mace, axe, dagger, sword) shouldn't matter too much.
