    Default Bards & Macros.

I love playing bards, but I don't know if I can do it with the lack of "marcobillity." Is there any possible way our motifs and fanfares can get a little attention? In a macro or something? Keeping up buffs with 30s cooldowns and doing some decent HoT with cadence is a *****.

I think the slight challenge of properly maintaining motifs, debuffs and dishing out the necessary healing is what makes Bard somewhat enjoyable. It also gives people the sense of being a better bard than someone else.

Its a really good class, and I love playing with a variety of buffs and heals as well as picking the right anthem for particular situations ALL at the same time (I'm also seriously thinking about rolling a mage JUST to play archon to support differently). I think that the cool downs make the class extremely unattractive as you get towards your 30s and 40s. Your tree makes it so that you're Coda's last a full minute, which is completely amazing, but the motifs are ridiculous Q_Q

Am I seriously the only one deterred by this??

You lose nothing by keeping your motifs up by clicking them one by one. In my best fights so far i did around 700 DPS and 500 HPS whilst keeping anything up and on cooldown. If i had 4 GCDs more per "rotation", it wouldn't make any difference. Bards are no numbers guys.

You're losing the fun of getting any kind of noticeable results from your GCDs. Motifs should be significantly longer for the same reason that most out-of-combat buffs have 1-hour durations-- it's not fun to spend 1/6th of your time rebuffing.

A much, MUCH better solution would be to tie the Motif buffs to something else. Maybe each Motif could be a targeted, damaging ability that also buffs your party. This way, it still benefits the group, but you get a more tactile feedback by pushing the button, because you see some direct results.

go to some of the how to bard threads, and barding for 1.8 live, it has some good stuff for you, and the few macros we can employ.

Somehow I don't think "suppressmacrofailures" helped that macro

There used to be a way to macro motifs, but they released a patch specifically to remove it. I think that will serve as their final word on the subject.

You can still one button all your macros. its just a pain to set up. Basically you would set up 5 different Keybinds which would cycle upon your one button press. There is a tutorial somewhere online for setting it up. Im sure if you did a search you could find it
