Default Leveling a rogue, have a couple derps about Sab

So I'm mixing Sab with Assassin for the stealth (any spec I use for leveling I want to have some form of stealth), and I'm noticing that Virulent Poison doesn't seem to proc off of charges when I detonate them. Do Charges and Detonate not count as weapon attacks? If not, which weapon is used to calculate damage (the tooltips say "x-y plus weapon damage", or "weapon damage plus x")?

Sab charges count as weapon attacks. Weapon calculation depends on if you are in melee or at range and if you have ranger or marksman as a subsoul. Sab charges unfortunately, do not proc weapon enhancements. Your auto attacks will still proc weapon enhancements while using sab attacks however.

OK, so if I have a better ranged weapon have a ranged subsoul and if I have better melee weapons, use something other than ranger/MM. Too bad about the poisons... guess that makes NB better than assassin if I don't want perma stealth then, in terms of passive damage bonuses from talents.

    Thanks!

    No.

If you are in melee range it will take your melee weapons into account.
If you are ranged it will be your ranged weapon.
