Combat Expertise: Functionality has been changed. It now increases the Attack Power bonus of your Combo Point generating abilities by 5-25%. This bonus is applied only to attacks with melee weapons.

Combat Culmination: Functionality has been changed. Your Finishers cause Physical attacks to ignore 1-3% of your target's armor per Combo Point for 10 seconds.

    Ranger

King of the Jungle: It now increases pet damage by 20%, up from 10%. For every point in the Ranger’s soul above 21, it increases pet damage by 6%, up from 3%.

Feral Aggression: Increases Crit Hit chance and also pet damage by 100% for 15 seconds. Cooldown is reduced from 2 mins to 1 min.

Pin Down: Cooldown is reduced from 3 mins to 1 min.

Assassin: Leeching Poison: The Attack Power contribution to the healing from Leeching Poison has been increased.

Nightblade: The Attack Power contribution to the damage from weapon enchantments has been increased.

These changes are not yet final and will be subjected to change based on feedback and parses.
    Bladedancer: I like the changes

Ranger: meh... I would like to see pet scales with AP.

Nightblade: I like the change. But I also would like to see an interrupt added to the sole tree.

Omg now clerics will be even farther behind! Rogues definitely needed a small boost.

Perhaps this patch could see big benefits to the old 2 button 'Mandancer' like specs..?

Dropping riftstalker and Marksman support souls and picking up Nightblade and Bladedancer, you could make up a considerable amount of what you loose by dropping RS and MM. Certainly MM anyway...

There could also be some interesting variants of the 'blink specs and NB specs now too....

    in the spec above,
The numbers/modifiers wont quite add up to a blink spec, but they get very close.....
Yea, bladedancer might become a good soul to dip into. Looks like they're changing 10 into BD to not be tied to BD abilities only.

Issue too with the ranger pet is it only takes on your base stats from gear. You don't gain the +crit or ap from items... but if the scaling with points into the tree works well then who cares. It's just a different means towards the same end of dps.

For people complaining that these are only slight boosts in DPS...

If you are THAT far behind, you are either using horrible builds, comparing yourselves to people with way better gear, or are just flat out bad.

HAVING SAID THAT, as a non-rogue I'm happy to see you guys getting some needed attention. I just really hope they bring you in line with other classes and don't make rogues an "omg new raid comp is 16 rogues" class.

Rogue: 0/0 HK or any other PVE content. Over 120+ days /played in PVP content exclusively as an Assassin. (yes, 2800 hours)
Yes, I know MM and NB rule. No, I don't want to switch to a MM. Yes, I know they are the best. No, again, I'd rather improve Assassins.

    Appreciate the open communication.

Too inexperienced with these builds to comment.

Well the issue here is that these seem to be slight DPS boosts to specs that nobody uses because their DPS is so bad. BD and ranger need a lot more than a slight boost to even be competitive with what rogues already have, let alone do anything about the state of rogue DPS as a whole.

    Hawt.

but at face value, wouldn't 5% damage+25% AP+ 20% arpen trump 25% AP bonus (shouldn't this be similar in value to the 25% we get from MM, or are the coefficients just really high to start?)?

It's confusing in a way, because the community went through that phase of complaining about AP scaling was so poor. If it's so crappy, 25% more shouldn't make a huge impact.

I mean, I guess it would just be a guy who you know, grabs bananas and runs. Or, um, a banana that grabs things. I don’t know.
Why would a banana grab another banana? I mean, those are the kind of questions I don’t want to answer.

25% AP bonus to skills wont apply to expose weakness either, I don't see BD variant being as good as MM

I really think BD needs a more comprehensive look. The souls in this game with the largest issues are the ones with an identity crisis. I know the soul has abilities that make my RS tank more effective but I would rather have the BD lose its purely defensive stuff and get a more thorough overhaul (of course with some tweeks to the RS soul) in order to be made the "in your face" dps soul it in supposed to be. Ranger I don't know what to do with it. In every game I have ever played pet classes become a recurring nightmare so I avoid them like the plague.

These are just the initial changes and will be different after parses and testing is done.
    - Competitive PvP DPS. You should fear seeing a Rogue the same way you see a Warrior. Of equal Prestige Rank, the two should be capable of providing a similar amount of PvP threat.

    Thanks for the info!

I'm excited about the BD changes, it gives me a chance to see seriously what a 51 BD spec can do, and play it long enough to get comfortable. I haven't tried it with the new Rythmic's (Duality and B&S Parity were all too far down the tree for how I used the spec).

Lookin' forward to PTS, thanks for givin' us a bit o' lovin'!
