strafe usually hits a specific part of the enemy model eg. head.
If the target is large enough and rotates away from u in a certain direction, strafe will break due to the range difference even if the target appears stationary.

I only ever encountered it while trying to move.. Never saw it fail in any other way, was specifically movement cancelling it..
i.e. strafe while dodging ground fire it cancelled etc.
Was lame! ;_; Waste my OP Crystal Buff!

Hastati (50 warrior), Tsar (50 cleric), Tsaritsa (50 Mage)
strafe almost always cancels when you cast it at max range, for example on stingers in akylios fight. huge pain in the ***.
Hmm, maybe it's because he is so high up. I was having the problem even when closer in. All but like two or three times was when I was moving. Good to know about the crystal buff thing, thanks.

I haven't had the pleasure yet of running RoTP, so I don't know if this is relevant. But any break in LoS will end Strafe as well.
