Thread: Sept 10 Marksman changes 1.5

    Default Sept 10 Marksman changes 1.5

    Removed the 2 energy Munitions, now we get the 25% armor pen Munition at 16 points.

    New 51 Point Munition - Silver Tip Munitions - "The Rogue's ranged weapon attack abilities curse the enemy, causing the enemy to take an additional 2%damage from the Rogue for 10 seconds. This effect stacks up to 10 times. Lasts 1 hour. 2 Enchant max."

    Change to Master Archer - No longer 20% at 5/5 - "Whenever you are standing still, your damage with ranged weapons is increased by 1%(5% @ 5/5). The damage bonus is increased by 1% for every point spent in Marksman Soul above 20. (@51 points total = 36%)"

    Replaced old Sniper Training from increase Deadeye Shot and Empower Shot to "Increase the damage of all ranged weapon cast time attacks by 21%"


    My thoughts are with the new master archer even if I spend 23 points deep for extra 21% damage to splinter shot and shadow fire, I will only have a 8% master archer down from old 20%. The only up side is now we get 50% armor pen easily (25 enchant + 25 tree) at the cost of loosing our 2 energy regen enchant. With nothing to improve the Ranger Soul, I don't think the 50% armor pen and 21% extra shadow fire and splinter shot damage will make ranged dps competitive. Now only waiting for them to fix the stats mess in pts to test if the new 51 point MM with the new enchant is viable for dps pve.

    For what it's worth, Sniper Training also appears to be effecting Channeled abilities so Strafe and Crossfire are seeing an increase.

    Channeling, is considered casting.

    So I figured it would be affecting them, just reading the tooltip. I was thinking to myself how OP strafe is gonna be with a **** ton of AP.

    Btw, I dont like the Dex/Str changes. its .5 crit per 1 point of dex/str. They should have made it .75dex/.25str for Rogue's, .75str/.25 dex for Warriors. Kinda ******ed. Lost so much crit on my rogue.

    Oh, and if we go 51MM for PVE, we're gonna have to parse our Silver Tip(100%, 20% dmg increase), Or Electrified, does around 450-600dmg PER HIT, so im thinking thats going to be a higher dps increase then a 20% dmg increase, for PVE DPS.

    With the removal of 20% flat standing still increase from old Master Archer, I doubt Ranger will see an increase if lucky barely pull the same number before 1.5 if the current built goes live. The 50% armor pen (if additive 25% tree + 25% enchant) does make a big factor though, but it all depends on how much armor bosses have...

    If MM is the new PVE, then I question the usefulness of Ranger's role. Having pet pvp class is just silly especially Blood Thirsty procs off pets.

    You're going to go into Melee range, just to put up Annihilate? Losing DPS by having to move because of Master Archer change.
