    Default 3cp vs 5cp

Tested naked with 2.2 dps daggers from the melee vendor in meridian on the normal practice dummy.

    Build: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MMVi.h.xV

timespan 1 minute, all final blows noncrits.

    5cp - final blow: 7x final blow : final blow 42 dps
    3cp - final blow: 11x final blow : final blow 48 dps

    final blow damge:
    1cp: 140
    > 90 dam difference
    2cp: 230
    > 90 dam difference
    3cp: 320
    > 50 dam difference
    4cp: 370
    > 90 dam difference
    5cp: 460

The damage gain from going 3cp to 5cp finisher is lower (140 dam) than from 1cp to 3cp (180 dam). This seems true for every rogue finisher.

savage strike -> savage strike -> savage strike = 3cp

    3cp -> savage strike -> savage strike = 5 cp

1 more cp builder to get to 3

    I think he's trying to say that 3cp builders + finishers = 4 attacks and 48 dps

while adding 2 more combo point builders then finishing = 6 attacks and 42 dps....

but now that i reworded it it still makes no sense.

    w0t?

so if you play nightblade and then pop Ebon Fury with a Fiery Spike already on your target... would it be a bigger gain to do:

    Dusk Strike > Blazing > Dusk > Blaze > etc... ?

Currently testing some specs, selfbuffed on boss-dummy 850-900 dps depending on spec. Ranger, nb and assassin (imp. final blow) did pretty good.

Energy is a problem though, finisher cost much more energy now.

I think all of our passive buffs should be no energy. Via Rhythmic abilities, Poison Malice, Ebon Fury... Ect. Because as it stands it is very hard not to be energy starved because of this. Our abilities cost good portions of our energy 30% and 40% unless you have the talent in BD. We have very few Energy increasing talents unlike that of the Warrior.

This and using 3cp would gimp sabdancers.

This is something I posted long ago. You get less damage per point the higher you go, the only trade off is the energy concern.

The only dimishing return is from 3cp to 4cp. Therefore 3cp is maybe the sweet spot.

Close. Depends on which finisher you use. Blazing isnt affected as much because it has inferior scaling with AP. Deadly suffers more, and Final in the middle as its gains are by % and effects on target rather than actual stats.
