Default The dire blade or Infiltrators Fury?

Which weapon should i put in my main hand for max dps as a sabdancer? and which in my main hand for pvp as a sin?

I've had so many opinions from other people and i just want to clear this once and for all.

Normalized by DPS, both have the same DPS.

    In conclusion: It doesn't matter.

Even if you had 27dps in main and 34dps in offhand I'm almost 100% positive it will use the higher dps weapon for ability dmg calculations.

    Great, thanks!

Melee attacks use main hand, offhand is stat stick and auto attacks for everything but BD.
Edit@OP: Doesn't matter which weapon you put where, both are exact same DPS so no difference between them.

Hmmm, i'm still being told that it's better to equip Infiltrator's Fury because it has a higher damage. (not dps)

I really wanted to equip the dire blade in my MH though because it looks cooler =/

Disregard whomever is telling you that damage matters, they are uninformed. Damage range means absolutely nothing, only weapon DPS.

The dire blade will do better dps, in a raid or group setting where a warrior is using Spotter's Order, due to the faster weapon speed

Wow that's a lot of misinformation in one thread. You first count the actual dps of the weapons with the whetstones you are using, for example a 34dps dagger with 2 +12 whetstones is 34 + 2*12/1.8 = 47.3 and a 34 dps axe is 34 + 2*12/2.4 = 44 dps. Then you use the highest dps weapon in your main hand. In your case you should always use dire blade in main hand and infiltrator's fury in offhand until you get a dagger to replace the axe. When you get a dagger you put that in your main hand and use dire blade in offhand.

Yes it does. It makes quite a large difference... 100-150 DPS or so.

Using two 34 DPS weapons, if one is 2.1 speed and one is 2.4 speed, you'll get the same number of attacks over any length of time regardless of which one is mainhanded because each hand swings independently for auto attacks. So the Spotter's Order reasoning for mainhanding the sword is flawed. If you could have two swords, or two daggers, instead of the 2.4 axe, then sure. But if you're stuck using one and one, SO won't factor into which hand they should be in.

However, as Gery said, Whetstones favor fast weapons. Since your charges/det/etc all use your mainhand weapon DPS to calculate damage, and whetstones increase DPS more for faster weapons than slower ones, you should mainhand the sword. Assuming you use whetstones of course. Which you should, because they add a rather large amount of DPS and they are pretty easy to make/buy.

    tl;dr- Mainhand the Dire Blade.
