Default Higher DPS Sword/Axe over Daggers?

Currently I am using The Dire Blade / Infiltrators Fury (both 34.0 DPS) as my Primary and Secondary respectably..

Do you guys think (Because of Spotters) my DPS would increase moving down to 2 33.6 Daggers that my DPS would increase?

currently have all Durne's gear minus helm, gsb trash belt, relic bow, Words of War, LGS ring, Foci Ring, and GSB Neck.

    Thanks for your time!

Yes. Daggers of the same tier are pretty much unilaterally better.

also .4 dps is the same tier, the 34dps is not really higher than the 33.6dps, and those 33.6dps daggers are MUCH better dps than the 34dps sword/axes.
Useful Rogue guides since I don't want to answer 50 billion questions anymore:

Sorry if this sounds noobish but slower 1h typically have higher base damage than faster 1h but can have equal dps due to speed. In theory since our abilities do weapon damage + X of damage, wouldnt the slower weapon be more ideal meaning our abilties would be doing more damage while fast weapons would be doing more aa damage and less with our abilities?

A large portion of dps in this game for us comes from proc based effects. Therefore, daggers being faster, although having .4 less dps, comes out to a dps gain.

Alright guys, thanks for the replies!
Hopefully can get a relic dagger soon, and maybe match that with a GSB dropped dagger

    Cheers

So proc rates are not normalized to weapon speed?

im pretty sure that by reading the 1.4 patch notes they are adjusting the procs to match the weapon speed, but currently, no, the procs are all the same amount, whether it be a dagger or slower weap

    No. Additionally, skill damage is.

A 34 DPS 3.0 speed weapon and a 34 DPS 1.0 speed weapon would deal the exact same skill damage.

Can someone please explain as to why daggers are better than swords? Is it just because of poison procs?

Spotters order currently does more damage with faster weapons, so in other words, your going to do higher dps with daggers then you are with warriors

My question starting the thread, was is it worth dropping the 0.6 dps on each of my 34.0 dps weps to max out my own dps

From my own tests you would lose at most about 8 ability DPS swapping to daggers. Given the DPS of poisons and spotters I'd guess go for it. Of course you should test your own change in damage/DPS for all abilities.

Also, daggers benefit more from whetstones due to normalization.

yes you would gain dps dropping to the slightly lower dps daggers.
