Default Demolitiopn Specialist in 44 Sab Build

Trying to understand the Demolition Specialist skill in the 44 sabo build to make sure I'm optimizing its use. It reads that the annihilation bomb "can" detonate all blast and spike charges and add the damage to 2 other enemies in 7 meter range. This seems like a hefty damage increase so I'm trying to figure out how it works.

Sitting on a target dummy and loading either 5 spike or 5 blast and then just stinng there throwing Annihalation bombs on CD I can never seem to make a detonate happen. My charges are never consumed.

Any1 else figure out how this mechanic works? Super low proc rate and I'm just not going for long enough?

    You answered yourself...

And yes, understanding what you read is sometimes nice too!

"2 other enemies in 7 meter range."

So, let's just assume for various reasons you're attacking the raid boss dummy which does NOT have any targets in range to test AOE.

Hefty damage increase? Annihilation Bomb does have a cooldown you know (Unless you burn your hmm.. ONE cooldown? :P), but yes it's a situational increase.
Then again.. from what I gather there are no specs using it as Shrapnel Charge does all the AOE wonders you need these days.

Okay so ignoring the pissy attitude, how did i answer my own question?

My 5 loaded charges were never consumed, so never detonated, are you saying this thing is smart enough to sense there are no other mobs in range so not to detonate?

I would have expected to see my 5 spike/BC charges detonated and consumed even against a single target, and I can't seem to make this happen.

Demo specialist does not trigger from annihilation bomb, only from your detonate skill. When opening on a pack of enemies, start with spike chargex5, incriminate, annihilation bomb, detonate. This will spread your spike charges around and detonate will cause increased damage on the primary target, along with triggering your Demo specialist on it.

After that shrapx5, spikex5 with annihilation bomb on cd for multiple targets.

Proper use of annihilation bomb can greatly increase your AOE damage. Make sure you get in the habit of using incriminate, and tanks also appreciate a well timed use of choking gas bomb, plus it groups everything up nice and tight for your spike charge A bomb.

About demo specialist; this triggers any time you use the detonate ability. There doesn't even have to be charges on the target, just combo points. This is why it is triggered after using annihilation bomb. The A bomb consumes the charges but leaves the combo points, allowing you to detonate for an extra blast and the demo specialist dot. Demo specialist will not spread around to other targets either.

    Got it, tks.

And wow thats a somewhat misleading ability writeup then cause "Your Annihalation Bomb can now detonate all charges on your target" is pretty misleading given thats how the mechanic actually works

I see what you mean about the use of the word detonate, but it is indeed detonating the charges, simply not consuming the combo points. Trust me, a well timed use of incriminate, spikex5 & A bomb and choking gas bomb glues mobs to tanks. I've seen tanks go offline right after a pull and keep aggro for quite some time from the initial aggro generated from incriminate.
