    Default Ranged or Meele?

    I only recently started playing RIFT now, did play some in the beta tho..

    But i remember meele was being really bad back then, and wonder if that is still the case!

    Should i try go for a Meele Rogue, or should i take the safe way and go Ranged?

    I play my Rogue Melee DPS 99% of the time. The only time I switch to a something else is to either Bard (to res the party after a wipe) or my 51 point Marksmen when a dungeon fight makes it pretty pointless to be in melee unless you are a tank.

    I do a lot more damage in Melee thank I do Ranged.

    I originally thought ranged was nicer, but at least for leveling, I've been doing a kick-*** BD/RS/Sin build for super fast leveling. Melee is the winner, for me at least.

    Just keep a range spec if you are going to do dungeons. Makes it easier to avoid the aoe.

    Lol since when have melee rogues been underpowered? I leveled as one in beta and i leveled one at launch. Its not as easy to play as ranged, but i killed stuff faster as a sin/bd/rs then i did as a mm/rng!

    Depends again on what you want to do.

    Bard/Ranger anything makes leveling solo very very fast.

    But if you want to group and have a healer I suggest melee also as it seems to do more damage. However a RS with rift scavanger is pretty self suficient.

    Thumbs up

    Also check this out http://www.riftjunkies.com/forums/sh...ght=Rouge+solo if you want a good leveling build.

    The idea is that you heal after combat. So the process idealy is just Teleport, Kill, Teleport, Kill.

    For a good leveling spec, basically just take any dps soul then combine it with Rift Scavenger from Riftstalker lol. I personally prefer Assassin or Bladedancer. I'd probably lean a bit more towards bladedancer lately.

    Yep, they aren't underpowered at all. The only way the could be is when compared to a warrior and that is only because warriors are faaaar easier to play (they have a extremely few keys to press somewere between 1-5 from what ive heard they use on a regular basis, my nightblade bladedancer sabeteur has 16 i use on an entirely regular basis...)

    Important in late game.

    Bladedancer/Riftstalker is an amazing aoe mob grinding spec

    Also
    If you want to know whats viable for dungeons theres a few dozen extremely optimized specs floating around these forums. Otherwise (for pvp that is) everything is balanced well enough from what ive seen and its just a personal choice
    assassin for spike damage;
    Bladedancer for consistent melee damage and some dodge;
    riftstalker to tank;
    nightblade for melee and ranged utility;
    bard to heal, buff and mez;
    sabeteur for spike damage and a little utility;
    MM for ranged dps;
    Ranger for some ranged dps, a pet and some debuffs/buffs;
    Infiltrator for a tad extra damage, a CC break and a few anti mage moves.

    Mix and match all you want
