Default thoughts on this tank spec...

I was wondering about the effectiveness of this tank build. I am currently level 29.

You should very seriously consider dropping the eight points in ranger (keeping the soul) and putting them into Riftstalker.

Right now your eight points in Ranger are giving you:
    1. 5% HP
    2. 6% damage reduction

For those same eight points in Riftstalker, you can pick up:
    1. Exceptional Resilience (6% damage reduction)
    2. Phantom Blow (another 6% damage reduction when stacked to 3)
    3. Planar Refuge (30% damage reduction cooldown)
    4. Improved Guardian Phase (8% more endurance at 29 points in the soul, gaining 1% more endurance with every point you spend)
    5. Improved Guarded Steel (10% more armor and 40% more threat with GS buff up)

IGP and IGS particularly: those two are key talents for Riftstalker tanks.

I wouldn't bother with the points in Invigorated Soul, I've tried it on my own rogue tank and Cadence just doesn't heal enough to be worthwhile. Those 3 points would be much better spent on Riftstalker damage reduction abilities or the bard's Street Smart damage avoidance.

To be honest you dont even need Ranger

Anthem of Glory - 6 points in Bard

Will give you more damage reduction than the 6% Ranger gives you - 8 points

Id recommend using BD somewhere - It'll give you more avoidance and a Combo building Cone attack which is complimented by Guardian Phase's taunting ability when you attack.

For your level this build will be much better:

The extra health is king until you get to 50.

Okay, so I should get rid of ranger totally and go with bladedancer, but not have any points in bladedance?

At least it looks like I was kinda sorta on the right track.

Your on the right track, there's plenty of ways to go tanking, some do it better than others based on your playstyle.

You can choose to use those points in Ranger to get you Twin Strike and Combat Pose

That'll give you a cone based attack and a Dex buff which will increase your dexterity.

    The choice is yours =]

Yes you should until at least the 40s or 50. The extra health and armor from bard (and Health buff if no one else has one) will help you out the most at the moment.

You basically have the bladedancer soul for the 0pt dodge ability. You can pop it right before/after shifting in on larger/harder pulls. You can alternate it with planar refuge if there are a couple of hard pulls in a row or use both at once and a particularly hard pull.

Also on spread out/large number pulls taht you cant or might not be able to all hit with shadow blitz, use shadow assault instead to shift in to the central most mob. Then when they all run to you shadow blitz the same mob and then hit rift disturbance. You will have a much easier time keeping aggro on them all then.
