    Default General rogue overview....

So, being new to rift/rogue class in general, im a little confused by the sheer number of finishers/combo builders you get with almost every build. Your basic 3 soul build (no 0 point) has 5+ finishers and usually more skills which build combo points, even excluding openers (assassinate etc).

Looking through some of the basic biulds floating around the forums, many of them put points into multiple combo builders. Are you supposed to use multiple combo builder skills in a chain (I.E savage + blazing)? And how many of the finishers do you cycle through? Just the ones that buff you and 1 of the pure damage skills? Or do you mix it up using both final blow and deadly strike on occasion

Im assuming there is a post somewhere with basic rogue concepts...but I cant find it....

It really depends on the build you are using... since you sound offensive minded, I'll use Assassin as an example.

You might open with a bleed from stealth that has a chance to add 2 Combo points. You then savage strike 1 time for a combo point, and use impale to add 2 more combo points. You are now at 5 combo points with 2-3 bleeds on target. You can use those combo points to heartstab the enemy, which adds a long and deadly bleed. You then savage strike them 5X more and final blow them. If the fight is going to run long and you have bladedancer specced, you might instead use a finisher that adds dodge % chance or crit % increase chance. If your build has riftstalker in it, you can use the finishers that absorb damage or add Armor class.

So really, which finishers you put points into and use is going to be a product of your build, the fight itself, and to some degree personal preference. You will find as you get closer to 50 that there are specs/rotations that have been tested and proven, but the beauty of this game is that you can be creative and still have some fun and be effective!

Just because the devil is in the details on this particular topic - I believe you meant puncture to add 2 more combo points (not impale). Impale is a finisher.
