Default Guide: The Cuisinart (Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the Rogue)

This "guide" is for my favorite spec, affectionately known as The Cuisinart.

(This is a revamp of my previous post, Why I love my PVE spec).

The Cuisinart - Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the Rogue.

So named for its ability to slice and dice, this is probably my most fun and most relaxing PVE spec. The strong points are the bladedancer's high single and aoe DPS, the RAPID gain of CP, and the riftstalkers healing and teleportation. When used correctly, the spec leaves ou instantly ready for the next fight.

This spec is NOT for PVP. It sucks in PVP unless you have a good healer on you. Note, with a good healer on you, you can close rifts and footholds in moments. Its silly fun.

I will list two specs, one for when your less than level 50 or 50 and green geared, and one for when you are more comfortable and ready to mve into hiher dps but a little less defense.

    High DPS Version

    Defensive Version

    A note on finishers:
Deadly Strike has really made what was a great spec into a fantastic spec, letting keen strike hit for 1k criticals.

If you are just starting this spec, it is important to keep False Blade up (5% more dodge) since you get so many benefits from dodging an attack.

Also when beginning, Annihilate (57 attack power) and Dauntless Strike (5% crit chance) can really matter, so you might find yourself using Deadly Strike less often in the beginning.

Generally you only need 1 finisher per attack because you want the creatures to die with CP on them.

I provide these 4 example videos. While I am decently geared now and thus using the High DPS spec, I was doing this same thing at 48, just with more potion use and the Defensive spec. This spec works as soon as you get 13 pts into RS for Rift Scavenger. It begins to excel when you get Dance at 31. Your call when to start using.

The CC Dino 8 Pack - This is a pack of 8 small dinos just to the left of the entrance to Charmer's Caldera. Awesome for butchering, spending 30 min doing this can net you around 8 platinum. If you go with a partner, so long as you exit, drop group, reform group, and re-enter, you can do this till your eyes bleed. Your partner will get 2200-4500 xp ever 2 min (levels 20-49ish). This is doable form level 48 with the defensive spec and heal potions, 49 with occasional potion need, and 50 on with no potions.

The Mothosian Command pack - 1 Elite Mathosian Commander and 6 normal Mathosian Legionairre's. These packs wander outside the Endless Citadel west of Zephyr's Return. Sometimes part of the daily quest, mostly a demo of the spec's usefullness. Notice the use of disassemble to shut down the elite for 6 seconds.

The Level 50 Minor Rift - The minor 50 Rift - A demonstration of clearing a rift from start to level 5. Note that if you dont have a green crystal, the ascended ability Holy Champion works very well. If you have difficultis, use the more defensive spec.

Cleaning House - A demonstration of quickly going through masses of 50s in Crown Hill, including one of the daily group Elite named. You can go anywhere and just plow to your hearts content.

Final thoughts: I use to use Blade Tempo and Double Coup, etc, but find that I much prefer not being locked out of Side Steps. Use them at your own risk.

Let me know if you have any questions

    THE MACROS

    B-Att
    #show Keen Strike
    cast Disengage
    cast Reprisal
    cast Flash of Steel
    cast Precision Strike
    cast Quick Strike
    cast Keen Strike

    B-Int
    #show Weapon Barrage
    cast Disassemble
    cast Weapon Barrage

B-Shift - In defensive spec, add Shadow Blitz to top.
    #show Shadow Shift
    cast Shadow Assault
    cast Shadow Stalk
    cast Shadow Shift

    B-AOE
    #show Twin Strike
    cast Rift Disturbance
    cast Twin Strike

At 30 Id probably be (if i did it all over again)
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...bdNo0MR.Vf0G0o

    Then at 36
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...MR0b.Vf0Iho00z

    At 40
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...MR0b.Vf0Iho00z

    At 45
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...Rhdz.Vf0Iho00z

But again, play with it. Prior to 30, bard/ranger is SUPER safe if boring and a little slow. You can keep that boar alive forever with cadence and 4 pts in ranger for the pet heal.

    Very nice

So short, easy, compact, and yet full of what I need to read that I may actually try this build.

    Thanks!

Are you currently affected with OCD? You made the same point about three times in a row...

for the looks of it , this build is only for Solo play at 50. (dailys etc) (not raids)
aoe of blade dancer is stronger than assasin but way weaker than the other souls.

Mostly this build is for having fun.

Its great in instances if you want, but it rules in the open world for doign dailies solo and grnding up some cash.

Its also great for levelling as well.

By the way, Holy Champion doesn't have any effect on Rift mobs.

+10 points for the title of the thread.
Retired due to lack of PVP content and boring/repetitive game mechanics.

Tried this as a second spec on my rogue. At 38, all I can say is holy crap. I love this as a leveling spec. Get in, turn cuisinart mode on and watch the mobs die. I thought my bard/AS/BD build was indestructible.

    Oh yeah...LOVE the title also.

Yeah, its a blast. Even useful for levelling prior to 31 (when you get dancing) with the 13 pts in RS for Rift Scavenger.

Only bad thing is it can lead you into leaving CP on critter son other builds, hehe, so be careful of that.
