Default Tanking builds: Traditional vs. Bladedancer

I saw someone mention using a Bladedancer soul in their build and I got to wondering...

Currently, I use the traditional tanking setup, which goes something like this:
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1M...ItIuqdRkkR.xoz .
This worked out well all through normals and into most T1s, however, I find that with large AoE pulls, very geared players, and starting out on T2 that I am having problems being solo healed on large packs of trash. Some of this is gear as I currently am at the bare minimum for toughness for T2, but some of it seems to be a scaling issue with out AoE damage and multi target threat.

Soooo...I was playing around and was looking at a spec like this: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...ItIuqdRkkR.xbz . My logic was that I would be gaining an extra "oh $#%#", more dodge and better AoE threat due to the Strike Back.

My questions to you folks are has anyone tried a build like this and is it ultimately worth losing 5% health and -6% damage for the dodge, extra CD and AoE threat?

That is another common variation but it goes 8 in BD for the +5% dodge finisher.
