    Default 51 Marksman worthwhile in PvE?

    I've been considering a purist Marksman, seeing the 30% damage bonus of Sniper Pedestal and the level 44 Purge. At loss would be pretty much all of the Ranger tree since Assassin Bonuses probably trump what the Ranger could give (especially with the loss of the pet).

    Question is, is it competitive dps?

    i'd say no, reason being that there are quite a few points wasted in 51 MM that could be better spent in other trees like "on the double" and all the points that increase movement speed, also you probably wont need the knockback or its improved version in PvE so thats like 12points wasted, although 'eradicate' does come in handy but so far ive only seen it be useful in expert RD at warden falidor...

    Default I messed about a bit.

    Can't see point of going 51 into MM despite the 30% pedestal.

    I like the 44 point for a deep MM build taking advantage of the passive.

    Here is one I am trying out, the damage was a disctinct improvement over less deep hybrids and you get eradicate.

    Eradicate in PvE very useful for purging boss shields and HoT's etc.

    I am using 51 MM in PvE along with 8SIN and 7RNG

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...qdAudR.0VMz.VM

    This gives me two poisons and Attack Power Buff with some nice passives. And I have to tell that numbers are quite good when doing T1 experts. I have half T1 gear and half blue drops from Stillmoor, and I can crit with Deadeye Shot for 2700. Max dmg from Rapid Shot was something about 3000-3200 - during boss fight, not on dummies

    Using the Abyssal Musket with Markman 51 / Nightblade 15 / Assassin 0. With the following stats:

    Attack Power: 439
    Physical Crit: 641
    Hit: 232

    Rotation: 5r5h5h, ihr, 5r5h5h, rr, ihr, 5r5h5h, 5r5h5h, 5r5h5h repeat.

    I am running about 600-700 dps raid buffed.

    Could you tell what all those r, h, rr, ihr means I guess those are abbreviations of skill names, but which ones?

    # = number of swift shots
    r = Rapid fire shot
    h = Hasted shot
    ihr = Improved Hit and Run
    rr = Rapid Reload

    I'm guessing:
    5 = 5 combo-point builders
    r = Rapid Fire Shot
    h = Hasted Shot
    rr = ?? AH! Quick Reload. "qr" perhaps?
    ihr = Improved Hit and Run

    Also, with all of the air/lightning damage in 51 MM, seems like Unstable state would be a better investment in NB. 51MM / 15NB / 0AS

    Wouldn't maximizing ihr go something more like: sssss, ihr, d, eesd, eesd, eesd ... back to normal rotation

    s = Swift Shot
    e = Empowered Shot
    d = Deadeye Shot

    Or is this power-limited, even with the 50% reduction?

    Thank you.

    One more thing. I can see that Deadeye Shot is almost always 'ignored' in MM rotation. I know, that it is not Instant, but as I observed during my fights DS does much more damage than Hasted Shot for example.

    Why people do not like that 1,5 sec cast finisher?

    Yup, sorry, should have been Quick reload. I don't really use Empowered Shot at all. This is because I am using Improved Hit and Run as an energy recovery item instead. With my shots only costing Swift Shot (26.1) and Finishers (34.8), assuming 13% bard reduction in cost. Halving the cost of shots means during periods of Improved Hit and Run I gain energy back toward 100% but don't quite reach it. Then when it drops the energy will drop down to waiting on energy over a GCD.

    If you use Empowered Shot (39.15) or Deadeye Shot (52.2), you quickly drain yourself of energy. These can only really be used during Voice of Joy moments, effectively.

    ehmm sorry... but why not use 3*empowered shot, deadeye shot after your ihr /throwing in a bull's eye before one of the deadeye in each ihr duration... not using those after IHR makes it kinda useless

    Hi,

    I just wanted to back up the other poster. I use the 51 MM/15NB/0 Sin. I absolutely love it. I don't have parses or anything, but I have fun and no one has complained about my damage. I seem to do good AOE for trash and great single target. Again, I don't have numbers, but it does well and I have fun.

    ^^ this...

    I have the same thing with my 51MM/7RNG/8SIN build. And I am happy, that there is no recount-like things built in Rift.
