    Default Rangers and Pigs

It's not a major issue, I'll grant that right up front, but it is an issue that gets under my skin and that I've seen others comment upon.

Rangers and pigs... Whoever decided this was a good way to go was imho not digging the whole Ranger vibe and was quite possibly having a laugh.

One might hope for bears as a replacement for pigs but given that Rift has no bears at all in the game, there is no bear model at hand to use, so this isn't a practical suggestion.

It might be possible to put cats in as the dps pet and move wolves to the tank pet. This could be done quite quickly and easily.

If one didn't want to mess about with the existing wolf mechanics, there ae Najmok mounts in Stillmoor which have a very stout build, and a smaller model of one of these could I feel provide a very good replacement for the pig as the Ranger tank pet. This again could be done quite quickly and easily as the model is already there.

Can we please get rid of the pigs? They're a bit crap aesthetically.

Boars, traditionally in many fantasy games (including Dungeons and Dragons, the source for almost any fantasy these days), have been very tenacious animals, charging in, getting in the thick of it, and fighting straight until death. This sounds very much like a tank to me (including the fight to the death part!). I, personally, am perfectly ok with the razorbeasts as the tank pet.

I'd rather face an angry bear, than an angry boar, those things are flat out evil.

remove pig, make wolf tank, make raptor damage, in place of old raptor give the beast of Caerbannog and everyones happy!

Or just leave it how it is, boar is fine.

I want a happy prancing unicorn with a shimmery tail and mane that gores my enemies to death with the point of it's glittery horn.

If this is what we are complaining about now, then I'd say rogues are in pretty good shape.
I used to be a rogue like you, then I took an arrow in the knee.

My dad tells a funny story of going Wild Boar hunting when he was in India.

It ends with my dad and a friend firing shot after shot into the head of a wild and charging mother boar while the Indian driver is driving reverse through a jungle at full speed while praying fervently to god to save him from the devil.

Moral of the story: Wild Boars are serious business, yo.

wild boars are indeed vicious and hardy beasts, but I still want my beast of Caerbannog!
