    Default Best leveling spec.

So, With all the changes and whatnot. What spec/soul combo would be the best for leveling as an all around spec, being able to solo or instance well? Bladedancer, ranger, or something else?

Ranger/marksman goes well for both solo questing and dungeons in general. Although I don't understand why you wouldn't have two separate roles for pve questing and dungeons.

Just wanted to see what the routes people were going. Right now i roll bladedancer for the aoe goodness and the soloing capabilities. However, For instances, i don't really know WHAT to roll with, which is sorta what i was hoping to get info on. I know my first post was rather vague, and i am sorry about that.

If you want to DPS in dungeons, there's many routes you can take. I personally went with nightblade/assassin for melee and have a ranger/marksman that I'm bored with (that I also used to solo quest using the pig). I solo pve with bladedancer/assassin with a proc heal/dmg greater planar essence to keep me topped off with the heal poison.

What would be the nightblade spec that you would go with? BTW i am level 35. That is for instances.

Bladedancer / Riftstalker is the best. Once you have access to Rift Scavenger there is 0 downtime, and dancing steel allows you to wtfpwn huge groups of mobs. Spec: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...Rrdz.VG0Iho00z

That is the spec that i am already following for solo play. but for instances, i want to be a better DPS for the group. which is why i was asking here. If anyone has a decent sab or nightblade build for a level 35. It would be greatly appreciated.

RS barely improves your DPS and requires you to leave combo points on mobs. With 20 points in assassin for the heal poison + the heal proc greater planar essence, you only have to drink every once in a blue moon when you take on 3 mobs, but burn through mobs much faster than the typical BD/RS build people advocate.

    Here's what I recommend for dungeons at 35: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...kfL.ihtM0og0os

Just add the rest in cruel vengeance, murderous intent and magnify pain. After that, it's up to you. I went for the RS attack power, but from there it's really personal choice. You could also add to fire and death attunement. But what I gave you + murderous intent and magnify pain is the crux of my build I use.

    For solo pve: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...x0b.VbdA0sMo0o

Add points to reach this: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...0b.VbdA0sMoMdz

Use the heal poison and buy a greater planar essence that procs death damage + heal. I think the lvl 33 version is called waxing shadesource. I paid 5 plat for it and I'm pretty sure that was overpriced but I took it since money comes by easily in this game. I only have to drink ocassionally and if there's 3 or more mobs, I just burn them down with dancing steel after popping sidesteps.

Sounds pretty overly-complicated for leveling. If OP wants an instance spec, buy a 2nd spec they're incredibly cheap. When you're quest grinding, you blow through mobs so fast you always end up with extra CP's on them and you heal like crazy. I ALWAYS ended fights with 100% HP as BD/RS, and burned through mobs so fast it was ridiculous. I ALWAYS took on at least 3 mobs, so I have no idea why you're saying this NB build is better for leveling...

    Buuuuut to each his own.

NB build is for dungeons. That's one spec. The BD/Assassin spec is for solo pve, which is another spec. I already recommended to the OP to have separate roles for dungeon and solo pve. It's all about optimization. What do you put in RS to get to 13 for the combo point heal? The entire 2nd tier is defense oriented, so you're wasting 5 points in addition to 3 points in a skill that just heals. Every single point in the assassin tree (except for the stealth improvement) improves your dps by noticeable margins. Even the heal poison does damage if it procs.

Don't do anything with ranged. You'll have to kite a lot and picking up extra mobs is a pain.

Ranger + Boar makes soloing a piece of cake. You'll have a tank to absorb all the damage and a heal to heal it. I highly recommend Ranger 1-50.

You *can* go 51 ranger 40-50 and your pet will be a force to be reckoned with so long as you can keep it alive.

    As a second soul...

Bard mixes well and will enable you to successfully kill elites with your boar. I have a solo spec at 50 that's 32 bard / 34 ranger.

You can go the more dps route and pickup nightblade instead for fiery spike and +% damage.

Mostly, I'm a big fan of leveling as a ranger, just be sure that around level 32 you have enough points in it for the greater razor beast, as the level 30 pet quickly becomes insufficient.

I never kited anything, and adds are easily dealt with if you can make your pet attack more than one thing.

Survivability is a good thing when you're solo'ing and quest grinding.
