Default For those curious about AP and Rogues:

Nothing detailed, and many of you know this but,

when Using Primal Strike with no buffs I would crit for 288 on the boss dummy.

After using Bard and Ranger AP buffs, giving me 103 extra attack power, I would crit for 303.

That means of the 504 AP I have, (and have been replacing +phys crit gear with), I get ~~ 75 extra dmg.

So if I had 0 Attack Power, my Primal Strike would crit for ~~ 225....

    what a ****in joke.

    /discuss.

    working as intended.

504 AP give a DPS increase of 50.4

taking armour/resists into account, a crit of extra 75 damage seems to be on par

    It DOES SCALE.

People want to see big numbers? Too bad.

GS is only a ~10 minute fight. They wanted low scaling from stats.

    I'd say AP scales

You gain an extra 50 dps from your 500 AP. Assuming a nice round base dps of 500 that's a 10% boost.

I'd like to see AP boost auto attacks again though. White hits may not be out biggest source of damage, but it does contribute to the overall. As it is AP is far less worth than crit which is a pity, I'd rather see those two as more or less balanced unless your spec leans towards crit effects or high AP boni.

    Yea...
Try unequiping your items bar your weapon.
Then equip your items and find the lowest leveled weapon you can possibly find.

Find it fair that you're doing twice as much damage from 1 item compared to 14?

Beyond that, with energy regeneration, you're having 0.5-1 seconds "lost" every time pending if you want to do a 30 or 40 energy ability. So, the actual gain in "DPS" is less than the perceived, it's more like +35ish DPS over an extended parse. For 14 T2 items. Sweet.

    1crit rate = 0.038% crit

so 1AP is worth about 1.7-2.7 crit.

Taking your post as an example:

primal strike crits for 288 and hits normally for an average of 192

with 103AP buff, you crit for 303 and hit normally for an average of 202.

    This is a 5.2% increase.

You'll need 273 Crit rating to achieve the same result assuming you're not energy starved.

If so, the crit rating required is 33% less
