If you don't like it then you don't like it. There's not a lot of rocket science to playing a bard. The best you can do is be honest with your guild and only break it out during emergencies. Bosses that need a backup heal or some other job that is brief and lets you get back to what you love.

If they're forcing you to be support monkey for all of their content then you need to find better buddies. Flexibility is one thing but it doesn't mean you have to be a doormat.
There is no better cause to fight than the simple need that blood be spilled. Do not fight because you receive reward or praise. Fight because that other bastard exists solely to die at the end of your blade.

You have plenty of stuff to do.

Besides motifs, you can do some damage with cadence/coda of fury/wrath spam. You can also help during spike damage with a 5cp heal coda.

All kinds of stuff to do.

If you're looking for big numbers and blowing stuff up, it won't happen.

But there's plenty of stuff a well-played bard needs to do that you'll be busy.

Not sure your level/spec, but by 50, you have lots of buttons to mash.

    Stick with it. It's great.

While on the subject, what stat levels do bards need to start t2?

While on the topic of bard.

Whats a good build for them? Seriously I am at a loss. I have looked and looked and looked at ZAM's char builder and come to notice that 44 in Bard is the MOST you should have in it unless its raid content then 51 doesnt hurt though its a bit pointless overall imo.

I go Bard/NB/Ranger cause bard is non-physical dmg but after that it just...BAH! I don't seem to heal enough, coda of resto and verse of vit just seem to suck...I don't know what I am doing wrong with it. I don't mind playing bard in the least I just hate feeling like a useless sock puppet because the hand up my *** is missing 3 fingers and a thumb.

Edit: This is the build I use

100 Hit. That's it. Very easy to get. I had 130 before ever stepping into a T1 (requires 0), and I have 170 now without trying and only just starting T2 (2/5 dungeons completed).

As for the Bard, if you don't enjoy it then don't play it. But at the same time, don't expect your guildies to bring you instead of someone else if they want a support class.

    Here is what I roll:

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...dqiqskqz.V.Vhb

People like to write off Verse of Joy. You may be correct that it isn't very important in Normal dungeons, but once you get to Experts it is quite nice. You won't really do much with those extra points to up your DPS (Cadence will be your main/sole CP generating ability) and Verse of Joy is more than a mana potion. For 15 seconds it puts all the Rogues/Warriors in your group on GCD limit instead of energy starvation. By 30 second into a boss fight you can use it to top off your mana users and give all the energy users a burst in their DPS.

Maybe something like this if you really only wanted 44 in Bard:

It's probably not optimal, but I roll the spec. above because I believe Verse of Joy is very useful.

If your guild are "making you spec" then leave.
Bards are the group support specialists, and unless your happy to do that you will be bored.

Your there for mass buffage, CC (in and out of combat), support healing and limited burst dps with Virturoso. Its the jack of all trades soul.

Default Multiple VoJ's for Boss Fights.

Bard builds with less than 51 points for experts and raiding is pure fail.

yes and no, some fights you are only required to keep up the 13% less cost buff and the regen motif... for these fights there is no reason to take more than the 30 or so points needed to do this allowing you to take something more useful to put some dps out. these are only when you dont have a chloro tho, otherwise the 51pt talent is pure money and i love it!
Useful Rogue guides since I don't want to answer 50 billion questions anymore:
Marksman, Ranger, Nightblade, Blink'Blade, Asstalker, Assdancer, and finally The Hoko Spec™

Bard build for me is... 51 Bard, 8 Nightblade, 7 Riftstalker.

And for those fights you are better off just going pure DPS. Even without a Chloro. If the fight isn't fully utilizing all of your motifs and your group heals for Cadence, Bard is not the best choice for that fight.

If it does require full utilization of motifs, buffs and Invigorated Soul, then you may as well go for broke and provide the 15 s DPS boost during the fight. Maybe even twice, pending the length of the fight.

The truth is it is your (and your group's) call. I, personally, just can't see any huge benefit to your DPS by putting those 7 points elsewhere, at least not one that would counter the DPS loss of 15 s of Verse of Joy with even 1 or 2 Warrior/Rogues(s).

Thing to remember about playing a Bard is you're like Bacon... You make everything else better.
By making everyone around you preform better, your group as a whole is stronger.

Currently its totally up in the air. I don't even get to run my rogue in experts unless its pug and those usually only go as far as I can throw my pickup truck. I was just wondering if there was a way to pickup my healing some more because I would like to run my bard over my chloro considering we have a cleric....who cant seem to heal as well as my chloro...:|
