Post *Stickie Please!* Rogue Leveling Build Compendium!

    Rogue Leveling Build Compendium!

In the interests of helping out newer players who may have come just before 1.1 or been lured in by marketing in a post-1.1 world, I am trying to get some stickied leveling build advice on each of the class forums. This would be the rogue one. It is closest to my heart because it is what I started as.

So, I think a great leveling build for early levels (to twenties, but really works till 31) Consists of Ranger/Bard/xx

xx can be anything that gives you a benefit with zero points in it. I choose assassin for the poison (yes, they work with ranged attacks)

This would be your Build at 10: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1McNM.V.V0c

    At 15: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1McNM.VM.VMcd

    At 20: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1McNM.Vc.VMcf0c

The rotation involves Cadence for three points, quick shot for 1 or 2 points (depending on if you have Opportunity yet) and head shot, rinse repeat. Your pet will tank really well and cadence keeps you and your pet healed splendidly, even through chain adds (if you spam it).

Now into my 20s I decided to switch to assassin, but a lot of people say it's not worth it to go to melee leveling until you can afford to get at least one point into the Riftstalker talent Rift Scavenger. So my rogue at 30 looked like this: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1MpVM.Vf0o.xbdVhcMRMo

To level with a ranged build past 30, you almost HAVE to go Ranger, because its pet won't level past 30 without getting that many points in the tree. So if you were a Bard with Ranger zero point for the pet, considering switching to entirely Ranger, or perhaps ditching ranger and adding in some other form of survivability (like Bard isn't enough!) or DPS.

Anyway, if people add complete leveling build outlines or suggestions for rogues I can add them into this post.

my assassin/rs/bd spec seems to be working pretty well. I feel like I am killing mobs faster than I was as a ranger too, and I can take on just as many mobs if not more with no problems thanks to leeching poison and rift scavenging. And I agree... at this point there is no reason to ask to sticky this thread. It is not even close to a compendium, which would consist of multiple specs or at least one fully fleshed out build to start. Posting a spec to 20 is not a lvling guide, it's a getting started guide. Totally different. When I don't have to wait 3 hours to get on I will post my current build and what I plan to make of it by 50 (assuming the links are working).

Cool yea i'd like to see your build. I feel weird at lvl 16 trying to run the RS/BD/Sin build.

I called that other guy a ****** bag not because he's right, that this shouldn't get stickied, but because only a ****** bag would go out of their way to point that out. What you did, which was lend 2cents with a promise of a leveling build and then mention that the idea of this thread being stickied is dumb, is much more useful and really what I would view as the proper way to go about it.

I guess its because there's hardly any good information on this forum unless you take the time to seriously weed through the QQ and troll posts.

    My current builds at 28:

    Assassin/rs/bd: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1MpMV.VhLh.0VRcxkb0k

    Ranger/nb/sin: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1MiNM.V0x.VMcfdczs

Both so far are really effective. Ranger pet heal is more than enough to keep him alive in most cases. If anything it is good aggro management practice for groups :P Assassin appears to do better damage thanks to crit talents mostly. Stealth is a huge bonus too :P See if I can get lvl 50 builds I am aiming for.

Assassin/rs/bd: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1M...cxsfqdbo.E0d0z - same concept really. BD has a couple nifty tools revolving around dodge so might as well make use of the reactives. Slip away and sprint (assuming sprint is usable in combat) to get out of sticky situations.

Ranger/nb/sin: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1M...**szmz.0VMcx0b - still focuses primarily on ranger. NB and assassin heavily boost the ranger's damage capability: 15% increased damage on builders and finishers + 20% crit damage + the other multiple damage increasers = too good to pass up.

For an alternative DPS spec, the assassin build can be modified by dropping RS and putting those 15 points into NB just like in the ranger build. Hope even a little bit of this helps, I am by no means a pro but this was what I came up with mostly on my own :P

the lvl 50 ranger build is bugged... for some reason my links to ranger trees just do not ever work. Basically take everything that increases damage. The nb and sin portions of the tree are correct, the res of the points just fill out ranger.
