    Default Suggestion for Leveling

What soul is the most effective to solo level in PvE ?

    1. Anything with Ranger 4 (can level to 30 before needing more points in tree to get another pet)

    2. Anything with Riftstalker 13 for healing when you kill a mob with combo points in it.

    3. Anything with Bard 12 (24 after the patch) I have a role with primary Bard and NB/BD that does surprisingly well by playing like a BD or NB with bard backup.

I leveled a rogue to 25 ridiculously fast by going ranger to 4 then going Riftstalker to 13 and after dumping my points into Bladedancer.

If the alpha notes are to be believed, then it's probably smarter to make a Warrior, Cleric, or Mage instead. There are some very viable leveling specs for Rogues right now based on the CURRENT state of the game, but based on the alpha patch notes, Rogues will be on the bottom of the totem pole for PvE for a bit.

If you're set on Rogue (and let me assure you that right NOW Rogues are fun), here are a couple builds you could try.

This one is a Sab-heavy build that will allow you to kill things quickly and the pet will help buy you some time and occupy your enemies while you set up your charges: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...xkoRz.V0o.0V0z

This one is a Bard-heavy build that won't kill things nearly as quickly as a Sab, but you'll probably die a lot less because the Bard buffs and heals give you a lot of survivability (and make you more useful in PvP and groups): http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0Micp.Vh.EIdqiqskqz.V

No offense, but can we please not drag the patch notes whinefestation melodrama into every Rogue thread? More than a few builds are fantastic for leveling and will not be touched by the 1.1 patch.

True. You can level with lots of specs. You'll just be leveling slower than other classes.

Warriors level faster than Rogues, and Clerics who grind instances for the majority of their xp - but then that's not solo leveling. So after that, it's still Rogues.

Look, you are entitled to your 1.1 angst, but please be self-aware enough to see it.

inquisitors are brilliant at solo leveling because they can force crits on their soul drain... because of so, i'd arguably say clerics are one of the best solo levelers

clerics are also capable of casting heals on wardstones, so it's very easy to defend in invasions given how much damage reduction wardstones can have on them, for tons of XP just reeling in.
