Hey just wondering what good decent solid build for Range DPS spec for PvE ?
Hey just wondering what good decent solid build for Range DPS spec for PvE ?
the best ranged DPS spec for rogue that does not use a broken mechanic/exploit is 51/15/0 ranger/nightblade/assassin
BUT isnt that missing out on MM ?
You claim that and yet http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...f-of-DPS/page6
shows you parsing and quoting yourself LOWER than Parla's MM build which he/she also provide a parser SS for (page 5). Not to mention the MM build has no pet you have to manage so it doesnt get rofl stomped by bosses
Both builds are sound. Parla's and the 51 pt ranger. It comes down to this. Do you want to manage a more complicated ability rotation? (MM). Or do you want to manage a pet? (Ranger) because both builds offer similar dps.
Regarding pets dying...not an issue if you pop hasten call. Instant pet summon. And it only has a 120 sec cooldown. If you can't keep your pet alive for at least 2 minutes you aren't trying hard enough.
I have parsed 51/15 and 31/18/17 (***/nb) and the later parse 60 dps higher. I've tried every combinaison of skills possible, and the best is to simple drop all the casting shots from the rotation.
563 dps with 51/15, 624 with 31/18/17. I forgot to screen.
However, in raid/dungeons, the 51/15 might pull ahead because of the survavibility.
What's the rotation for the 51/15/0 build, and why do you include 0 point assassin? Can you put the poison buff on your ranged weapon, or is it just for those unexpected times you end up in melee range? If so, wouldn't it be better to switch to 0 point BD, for the dodge cooldown as an oh crap button?
Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate
Dwarf Rogue - Tank, DPS, Support (in that order)
That's because poisons and Hellfire blades don't say anything about 'melee' weapons. They only say 'weapons.' And you don't explicitly place them on any particular weapon, which would imply that you are, in theory, also placing it on your ranged weapon (or ammo, if you want to think of it that way). Any 'Weapon Attack,' which includes ranged weapons, will cause them to proc.

Rotation on the 51/15 is basic but effective. Piercing shot, crippling shot, quick shot and repeat until 5 combo pts. Finish with head shot. This all begins with splinter shot. I also throw fiery strike into the mix to help build combo pts and place a fire dot on the enemy. It stakes 3 times. ill use fire strike once per rotation, usually ensuring a 3 stack occurs and keeping the dot on them for duration of fight.
Does serrated blades work (proc) with fiery strike?
I can't confirm that it does but since it is melee it should proc in theory.
