    Default Atk Power

    I have been testing a few of my skills like Precision Strike and Quick strike and am not seeing much if any effect of the 50% dmg bonus from attack power. It doesnt seem right that Atk Power is effecting it to such a small degree.

    I know I play rogue well and am in full T1 epics with 2 blues left. A freash lvl 50 with just lvl 48-50 blues joined in the group I run with and blew away my dps. I think if atk power actually increased our weapon dmg like it should this wouldnt be an issue. Has anyone from the Devs commented on this as being broken? Or are we just destined to be a fail class. Im to the point that I dont want to reroll a warior or mage but am tired of being seen as a weak player due to dps. (I do pull more then the other rogues in my guild by a far margin).

    I don't think attack power is working properly for rogues or warriors most ppl are stacking crit.

    I did some testing the other day --

    Looks like ~200 AP = ~40 added damage on Assassinate, which gets a 100% AP damage bonus.

    That said, I am generally around 300AP, at 50 in meh blues. Doesn't seem realistic to stack AP, at all right now. 5:1 translation from AP to actual Damage with a 100% AP bonus damage.

    So if you wanted to do 100 extra damage you would need ~500 extra AP? I don't think that's logical with the current gear. Especially when there are players running around with 8k+HP already.

    It may depend on the soul. For Bard, my spreadsheet is suggesting 1 AP ~= 4.2 Crit.

    Basic assumptions:

    I've estimated that 1 AP ~= 0.25 Damage for Cadence (the entire ability of 3 ticks, so roughly 0.083 Damage per tick). With 5 points in RS, 1 AP on gear = 1.15 AP on paperdoll, therefore 1 AP on gear ~= 0.096 damage per Cadence tick.

    Self-buffed, I sit around 25% crit and my non-crit Cadence ~= 136, Crit Cadence ~= 204.

    Based on this, my average tick is: 136*(1 + 0.25*0.5) = 153.

    AP
    If I added 10 AP from gear: non-crit = 136 + 10*(0.096) = 136.96

    My average tick would be: 136.96*(1 + 0.25*0.5) = 154.08

    Crit
    If Crit was increased instead of AP, I would need to solve: 136*(1 + 0.5*(0.25 + X)) = 154.08

    Doing so yields X = 0.0159 = 1.59% additional crit.

    1% Crit = 26.37 Crit Rating => 1.59% Crit = 41.93 Crit Rating

    Summary
    10 AP on Gear = 41.93 Crit Rating on Gear => 1 AP ~= 4.2 Crit Rating.

    Since Trion seems to itemize 1 AP = 2 Crit Rating on gear, in general +AP gear seems best for Bards. I do believe this will vary with gear (do the calculation with 120 non-crit cadence and 25% Crit and it's a 1 AP = 4.75 Crit Rating ratio).
