    Default Good PvE Ranged Spec?

I just hit level 50 the other day and I am looking for a good PvE ranged spec. Mainly for dungeons etc. I was using Ranger the whole way leveling. So what do people use in dungeons. Ranged mainly, but I dont mind assassins either. Link me to some builds if you could also.

    Cheers

I personally Go the 51Ranger, 15 NB route, with raptor pet and the hellfire buff it outputs some solid dps in dungeons. Theres no point in going Ranger to not take the pet buffs, it is a pet soul.

On MM build, can't help ya, never played one.

Sorry for delayed response, Hellfire Blades is a buff from Nightblade tree, your going to want to gio up to the talent that gives you the 5% damage increase from Hellfire, adds a bit of dps to us.

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1M...0x0V0c.bVR0x0b

This is a powerhouse for ranged DPS (my current spec)
    *Pets*
    -Raptor Pet for DPS
    -Boar for Tanking
-Wolf sucks compared to the Raptor...

    *Buffs I use*
    -Pred Instincts - 46 AP
-Lethal Poison - +5% crit on weap apply
    -Virulent Poison

    *Skills used outside of macros*
    -Marksman pedestal
-Expose Weakness - Can use it while in stealth but i find opening with Shadow Fire is better
-Rejuvinate - I also have this on a mouse button, keeps the pet alive
-Rain of Arrows...primary AOE move, I use the AOE macro once between Rain of Arrows cooldown (fan out)

*Combat* favor headshot over rapid fire shot (i cast rapid fire just to buff haste)
    1. Drop Sniper Pedestal
    2. Cast Shadow Fire - only used to open
    3. hit Spam Macro
    4. buff finisher macro
    5. Spam macro
    6. Haste Macro (only use to refresh haste)
    7. Normal finisher...etc.

    *notes*
-average 650 dps ranged sustained, 400 melee range (700+ with bard buffs)
-this build does pretty sweet melee dps when the mob comes in range so when it gets to you..you don't have to kite/run.
-puncture is pretty sweet for helping build combo points in melee range.
    -final blow hits freaking hard.

*Macros* - These allow auto switching between ranged and melee ranged abilities

startrangedattack does NOT have a /cast in front of it

    1. Spam (crippling shot, piercing shot, puncture, savage strike, quick shot, escape artist)
    2. Buff Finisher (head shot, final blow)
    3. AOE (concussive blast, fan out)
    4. Haste Finisher (rapid fire shot, shadow fire, final blow)
    5. Normal Finisher (Hasted Shot, Final Blow)

    1
    #show crippling shot
    suppressmacrofailures
    startrangedattack
    cast crippling shot
    cast piercing shot
    cast quick shot
    cast puncture
    cast savage strike
    cast escape artist

    2
    #show head shot
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast head shot
    cast final blow

    3
    #show Concussive blast
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast concussive blast
    cast fan out

    4
    #show rapid fire shot
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Rapid Fire Shot
    cast Shadow Fire
cast Final blow <----------not necessary because Rapid Fire Shot works point blank range

    5
    #show Hasted Shot
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Hasted Shot
    cast Final Blow

Ok first off don't mix Ranger and Marksmen. You hurt your DPS. I played like that for a long time and finally found a build that increased my DPS and crit significantly.

Here is what I use when I am soloing in the open world and in a dungeon and with a Boss that spawns adds:

Now here is a build that I use when I need to go single target against a Boss with no adds:

Do those two builds and stack some Physical Crit, Dex and Hit and watch all those Big Bright Yellow numbers fly across your screen.

Try it out some time, you will never go back. Pulling over 1000 DPS in dungeons in T1 gear right now.

Both of your builds miss out on some key dps increasers.
-If you use NB - Melted Skin is low hanging fruit and it adds 5 percent dmg
-MM - you bought improved swift shot over 2 more points in Master Archer?
-MM - I am currently cruising with 190+ hit, you would be better off moving your 3% hit to Sniper Training
-MM - You need static shot and Repelling shot for bosses? Why wouldn't you buff your AOE with Collateral Damage
-MM - 2/2 Rapid extrication is way better than 4/5 Keen eye

-Ranger - One of the BEST skills in the ranger tree is Opportunity
-Ranger - Doubleshot is fantastic for standing still and killing mobs when you are energy starved
-Ranger - Really only need 2 points in Quick Shot
-Ranger - Any ranger build with 31 points in it needs Hasten Call, its an amazing skill for switching pets quickly or simply getting another boar pet out to save your face
-Ranger - You buffed your pet with Master Huntsman, but neglected a 15% dmg increaser for it (Blood Rage) *PERSONAL NOTE* - I have done some parsing and I feel that both of these skills add little to nothing on your pets damage.

Mixing MM and Ranger creates some HUGE syngery. You get the pedestal at 18 points, you get 3 total buffs from finishers (+dmg, +attack speed, +run speed), Armor penetration (all your attacks are physical), Master Archer is good dmg. All these bonuses well outpace Nightblades bonuses. What you need to do is avoid using any skill that uses a cast time while in combat such as Dead Eye Shot.
