    3k health is nothing when you're 80-90k+

Do you know any better way to drop 100% of your charge to gain your passive shield? I don't.

It could provide 0 healing that I couldn't care less. I use Soothing Waters to reduce the downtime on my passive shield.

The main purpose of it is to build 100 charge quickly.
Also, there is no actual CD on it, so it can be somewhat spammable, so its decent.

I was under the impression the high and low shields don't stack?

They stack, it's two different shields, with two different buff and two different debuff blocking them.

And even if they didn't stack, it would still be useful as the shield doesn't last long enough for you to use 6 global to use all your charges.

Serious question, is Avalanche unusable on raid bosses or something?

It's useable on any monsters, bosses or not. The stun part of it doesn't work on targets immune to stuns. Bosses are immune to stuns.

Avalanche will apply your Storm Front and Arcane Shielding buff that you get from going above 75 charge and under 25 charge, increasing armor by 30% and reducing magic damage taken by 15% respectively. So if you don't want to bother with applying them pre-pull, you can just engage with Avalanche. I highly recommend taunting or using Icy Blast on pull as anything else has a travel time and mobs/bosses tend to agro from proximity before your charge or projectile reach them.
