Default Best DPS spec for raids?

I've seen nice DPS on Necrolist, but I've been told that's not a good spec for raiding, any idea what is a decent spec for raiding?
The only way that someone from Cluster 2 is actually as bad as you all say is if they started playing this game in 2.3 (Free to Play launch).

    61 lock / 8 pyro / 7 necro is top ranged dps.
Pyrobinger is top melee dps (specifically the variant with 2 ele, iirc)
61 harb / 8 pyro 7 ele is less melee dps but more utility and better disconnect than pyrobinger.

Warlock is the safe bet: it has high dps and is pretty easy to play.

Pyro is the counterpart: it has low dps and is incredibly hard to play.

I run 61 Lock every Boss cept Matriarch in which I 61 Harb.

I refuse to play a pet class. Ever.

Plus 61 lock plays greatly into fights like Crucia where the last phase is most hectic. We (pretty sure) do the most ST damage of any class under 50%.

I don't want to get flamed in thread but I thought that ele was highest ST dps?

I tried 61 lock and it didn't do well. Maybe i was doing something really wrong with it?

On a fight like the miniboss in FT ele will smack the **** outta 61 lock. On a sustained fight Lock bests it.

61 Lock should post really good numbers. The utility it brings to fights is really good too. Progenitor & Double Dotting, Twins & Double Dotting, Kain is really good for adds etc.
Not sure what your SP is, but its going to be weak on test dummys. Read up on Valerys guide.

I'm only 2 EE/3 FT, and don't get to dps much, but in my experience, in fights where you have to dps adds really fast, necrolist seems to win.. which is pretty much every fight so far apart from the twins. I'd do harbinger on Matriarch and warlock on Crucia though.

Tbh there's only really 2 specs you need:
    61 Warlock/8 Pyromancer/7 Necromancer
    and
    61 Harbinger/8 Pyromancer/7 Elementalist

Guides which can be found at:
    http://forums.riftgame.com/rift-gene...n-valeryy.html
    and
    http://forums.riftgame.com/rift-gene...inger-val.html

There are very few situations where you need anything else.
    Nope.

Default for RAID DPS? it is about bosses

While I agree that warlock suffers on short fights. e.g. trash and mini-bosses... who cares?

Trash is something you get past... not something you _worry_ about.

For ranged DPS, in raids, Warlock is a very strong spec. Of course you have to love DOTs.

You're only feeling this way because you're not yet comfortable with lock and likely fumbling a bit with sc/dp as you switch and also missing out on radiate opportunities. Lock outright dominates 44/32Ele on a ST fight greater than 45sec duration(lol ele cds). If the introduction of 2-3 target swaps, once every 15seconds, each minute is making that not true, it's due to user error. Switching targets should only be 1gcd lost, which is not far from 44/32Ele having to re-ignite+necrosis each switch.

Can't use radiate death on Kain though, well, at least not on the first phase. Do you just void bolt the adds?

My main issue with using sc/dp on adds is that they died so fast I didn't always have time to get my DoTs back. I don't get to dps much to practice though.
