    1) Ignore unsubtle troll post above.

    2) Try and refine questions/posts such as yours to prevent aforementioned trolls.

    3) Check out the mage guide forums

    4) If melee: Go 61Harb/8Pyro/7Ele (see Harb guide in mage guide forums)

    5) If ranged: Go 61Lock/8Pyro/7Necro (see Lock guide in mage guide forums)

    Sorry about that. In quite a bit of a hurry when i posted that question. ::

    Anyway, I am choosing between Pyrobinger and Warlock. i like the idea of being a melee as a mage (that is something new for me).

    Quick few questions:
    1. What weapons should i wield as a Pyrobinger?
    2. What stats as a Pyrobinger? Is Pyrobinger build viable for levelling?

    The answers to your questions are in the Mage Guides in this forum and magically in Valeryy's signature post above. If you can't find these you most likely will not be able to understand how to play a Mage, good luck.

    Leveling is super easy with 61 Harbo (melee with AE) and the rest in Chloro or some combination you never die.

    Neither are really the best for leveling. Maximum into harbinger and 8 into chloromancer is best for that.

    When you get to raids/dungeons, you should be good at both the top ranged and melee dps specs.

    You should work on these for now:

    -Pyrobinger (42pyro 31harbinger 2 elementalist, max dps but it's more of a boss killing spec)
    -61Harbinger (61harb 8pyro 7ele for max dps//, or max harb and 8 into chloro and sub points into ele if leveling, or up to 15 in chloro if youre dying a lot)
    -61Warlock (61lock 8pyro 7necro) for top ranged dps. decent at leveling but slower than harbinger leveling. note that it's a damage over time spec (high sustained damage but has ramp up time, making it not so great for questing)

    -61chloromancer - learn to heal! for groups etc.

    As for stats, they're generally the same for specs with at least 8 Pyromancer.

    Prioritise Intelligence, spellpower, crit power. Stat weights are something close to:

    Spellpower=1
    Intelligence=.95
    Wisdom=.4
    Spellcrit=.35
    Critpower=.87

    Basically, pick items which have high critpower (since it comes in bigger amounts), then high spellpower. Obviously favour int(mage) items over wis(cleric) items.

    For weapons, it doesn't matter, as long as they have good stats. Totem/sword or Staff is generally the same with minor differences.

    Contradiction in terms.
    In all seriousness, the only fight in which you *need* aoe is Matriarch, and mages are an ill-suited class for doing so.
    For the minimal amounts of aoe necessary in raiding, either the "Necrolist" spec or simply 61 warlock with Radiate Death is plenty, while maintaining the integrity of a high (using this term loosely to describe necrolist) single target dps spec.

    If you're talking about trash, then it depends on the specific trash pack but I prefer to bring Dom just because I can CC some adds which is useful while simultaneously supplying the bulk of my dps in a couple of GCDs (Mass Betrayl + Void Wall in between squirreling is easy).
    It should be noted that if you're having trouble with trash, that squirreling and/or fearing adds can be a reliable way to make it easier. Obviously trash isn't 'hard' but in all honesty, some of the trash packs can be more difficult than the encounters when approached without any knowledge of their mechanics. Also note that you can use squirrel/fear to interrupt casting spells (even 'un-interruptable' casts) on any mob which is vulnerable to the abilities. For example, on the trash between Gelidra and Zaviel if you continue to chain-fear the mobs while the raid is killing them, your fear will interrupt their spell casts and result in them doing negligible if any damage to the tank or raid.
