Does anyone know if TRION Has plans to make the Dominator more PvE friendly for Storm Legion? I hope so...

in the livestream for harbinger they said that dom was still remaining a control based spec, and a large amount of skills are going to be unchanged. they said that what they are changing is the dom will be more self sufficient and have more aoe abilities

    thats all ive heard

I do hope its more PvE friendly. And the AoE thing is good. Being a support role, having something like Forked Lightning would be nice.

I do remember seeing two of the Dom's new spells screened, both of which were Air based AoEs, but can't find the bloody thread just now. Descriptions paraphrased because my memory's awful.

Nyx's Orb - A slow moving orb is fired in front of you that deals Air damage to all it touches.

Lightning Wall - Creates a wall of lightning that deals Air damage every second to those who enter it's area.

I also hope Dominator becomes more viable to bring in PvE.

Here's an image (originally posted here) of what the Dominator soul tree looked like at the time of the presentation.

As a glance, there still seems to be a large emphesis on improving Transmogrify halfway up the tree. Hopefully there's more to it than that and the soul becomes a bit more viable in existing & future raids as a result.

Due to the CC, in order for the dom to e more viable in future & existing raids, requires those raids to be tuned with the expectation that Dominator CC can be used. Having everymob with Immune for all types of CC..doesn't make it anymore viable.

I agree. But if they gave the Dominator more support tools, like having a AoE Mana/Power/Energy regen ability like Bards, some decent AoE damage, and some other higher power but short duration buffs would be nice.

The stuff I could gather to the best of my abilities from the pic posted (didnt look so well on my iphone so best I could do!)

    Things that are gone:

    Efficient Control
    Controlled Opportunity
    Empowered Presence
    Ineptitude

    Things that are moved:

Swift Control (moved up one tier)

    Things added:
(what they do I know not)
    Tier 1 augment
    Tier 3 augment
    Tier 4 augment
    Tier 6 augment

    New tier 7 stuff
Another skill augment for split personality
A skill augment for Haunting Pain (multitarget I hope :-))

    Tier 8 stuff
Control Flash (augments storm shackle and mass exhaustion
Broken Spirits (increase dom skill damage by 10%)
Malevolent Shield (new skill: absorbs 50% healing done to enemy)
New Lvl 60 skill, looks death based (looks like voidbolt related, possibly multitarget uber death damage)

    Skills

Mental Shock is now also a new baseline skill (3 total now)
    Reflective command moved to 8
    Mana Drain moved to 12
    Degeneratin and memory wipe removed
    Deny moved to 16
    Storm Shackle moved to 20
    24 new skill (death based)
    28 Haunting Pain
    33 Deaths edict
    36 unknown skill (lightning based)
    40 Incompetence and Grasping Void
    44 New skill (lightning based)
    48 Mass Exhaustion
    51 Mass Betrayal
54 Nyxe's Orb (new skill: Line-travel-AOE ball of lightning)
58 Lightning Wall (new skill: what it says)
60 Pain Armor (Buff: splits some damage done to you to CC'd targets, without breaking CCs, also increases all damage done by mage by 15%)

The main thing I noticed....is interesting...notice there is not bottom heavy skill earning. It seems all the skills are more or less evenly paced apart up to lvl 60. Wonder if this will be a trend across all trees. Likely will make balancing easier, but wondering if you'll have the variety you need to perform well early on in the game.

    Neurol Prod
    squirrel
    Knockback/interrupt/lightning damage
Mental Shock is now also a new baseline skill (3 total now)
    Reflective command moved to 8
    Mana Drain moved to 12
    Deny moved to 16

These along with arresting presence, charged shield and whatever that new skill is will be all you have in silverwood.
