    Default Mage Bugs - 1.7

    Hey all,

    Hereís the next iteration on the bug thread. Iím sure Iíve missed a few, but hereís the unresolved issues I pulled out of the last thread. Let me know if Iíve missed anything or if there are new ones to be looked at.
    • Burning Bright doesnít appear to be giving the appropriate bonus.
      I still need to double check this on a live server after the update. When I tested this yesterday on my server everything checked out with it in PVP and PVE.
    • Damage is down even with stats boosted.
      Iím looking into this. Iíve been comparing numbers against some parses I ran several weeks ago and Iím not seeing a significant difference. Can some of you who are seeing this difference fill me in on what build youíre running?
    • The immunity portion of Wild Abandon isnít working correctly.
      I havenít had a chance to look into this one. Is everyone seeing problems with it?
    • Charged Shield damage can break CC effects even when procced off of melee or instant attacks with no travel time.
      Iím still working on this one. Iím not sure there is going be a good fix for it, but Iíll let you all know before anything changes.
    • Channel bars are disappearing while channeling.
      Is anyone seeing this after the update? I havenít been able to reproduce it yet, so let me know if youíre still seeing it.
    • Flame Jet doesnít work when used in a macro.
      I havenít tried to repro this on yet. Iíll take a look and pass it on if Iím able to get it to happen for me. Unfortunately this wouldnít be something I can fix myself.
    • Icy Carapace wonít ďexplodeĒ if cast while Elemental Forces is active.
      This should be fixed with todayís update.
    • Earth damage from Elemental Forces wonít cause Icy Carapace to explode.
      Iíve figured out why this is happening, but havenít come up with a good fix for it yet.
    • Depending on how points are spent role icons for a build can be incorrect (Chloro and Archon in particular)
      This is another one that I know why itís happening, but finding a good solution is problematic.
    • Living Energy stays toggled on even if overwritten by another ability, causing it to no longer have an effect.
      There isnít currently a way for me to fix this. Iím working on getting something in for it, but donít have an estimate on it yet.
    • Grasping Void is useless in PVP.
      I havenít been back to revisit this one. Itís still on the radar, but hasnít made it back to the top of the list.
    • Warlock Magical Affinity doesnít increase the Charge gained from Void Life.
      Another one that I havenít revisited in a while. I think I should be able to take care of this one though.
    • Disorient doesnít apply damage if the target is immune to CC.
      I donít have a good way of fixing this still, though its been a while since I looked at it.

    Upcoming Fixes
    • Haunting Pain is getting set to give Charge when cast.
    • Fixed a minor issue with Fire Shield having a possibility to proc on incorrect abilities.

    I'm not really sure what you're looking for. 38/28 warlock pyro is seeing a big dps loss because of the warlock crystal nerf as well as some of our buffs being changed from multiplicative to additive(which you said you were aware of, so you should have the list.) Everyone has noticed it in ANY pyro build due to these buff changes.


    I'm sure many of us would really like to know the goal and purpose of the warlock crystal change as you have not posted anything in regards to it. If the goal was to make 51 warlock more viable, it did nothing for it as empowered darkness on a lower CD does nothing since we do not have the charge to use it.

    This only seems to be a problem when Flame Jet is talented, I haven't tested on live, but that's what was happening on PTS

    This has been sticking around forever, but Just wanted to remind you that the Max Health for a Mage is still buggy when you have both Raised in Nature and Vitality talents, in that your Max Hp can vary at times.

    Been watching my max health on my Mage randomly be around 9879 hp or 10013 or so.
    It apears its linked to your buffs going on or off, and things such as zoneing, finishing quests or even mounting can cause this fluxuation to happen.

    seems to be from a change to the way glyphs is handled, only constant that causes a drop. both my archon (51/9dom/6pyro) and my 36/30 pyrolock saw drops and both have glyphs, while chloro and chlorolock (no glyhps) is exactly the same after accounting for spellpower change

    This isn't really unique to mages, happens with any toggle aura type ability. Not sure I would call it a bug, that's just how it works. The ability is still active, it just gets overwritten. What would be nice is that if the stronger aura leaves for some reason your immediately picks back up without needing to toggle it off and then back on, or for people moving in and out of the two auras.

    Maybe I'm missing something, but which skill was multiplicative? I thought only warriors had that problem. All the number crunching I've done for the skills I've used indicate that its all additive (unless you're talking purely about the warlock crystal.... but that 'seems' to still be multiplicative... not sure about that yet).

    I just don't get it.

    Warlock crystal was nerfed to counter the over-the-top sicaron and murdantix parses--fine. But why did 36/30 pyrolock need nerfing? It seemed warrior single target and 36/30 more or less coincided, and 1.7 was aimed to bring rogues to that level, as has been done.

    Now warriors were inadvertently nerfed in 1.7, and warriors immediately see a response saying it's accidental, and it will be fixed. Are mages on the other hand not going to see equal treatment given that the glyphs change corresponds to a ~7-8% dps loss? I thought we were pretty damn close to seeing PVE single target dps balance between callings, but I guess not.

    so i have noticed with glyphs of power on i do 200 less dps then when i have i dont have the buff. ne one else seeing this

    Quick update for people. Glyphs of Power is going to be having its base bonus increased from 5% to 10%. I'll keep monitoring damage let you all know if anything further ends up changing.
