    Default Pyromancer`s Burning Bright broken on Live - Kervik pls take a look

    I`ve already written about it in other threads but I think this need a separate thread because that is a huge issue. I`ve made another test to be sure I`m right.


    First to be sure how % dmg increase per point talents works in PvP I made a test for Stormcaller.


    My target had 0 Valor, 0 water resist, no buffs, no dmg reduction talents. I had no Vengance, no buffs.


    4 pts SC: Cloudburst - 325-328 dmg (no crit)

    51 pts SC: Cloudburst - 492 (no crit)

    That is a 50 % increase. SC gets 1 % more water dmg per point so it`s ok.


    Now pyromancer. Target had 0 Valor, 12 fire resist.

    0 pts Pyro: Fireball - 650 dmg (no crit)

    51 pts Pyro: Fireball - 725 dmg (no crit)

    That is a 11,5 % increase. Pyro gets 1,2 % more fire dmg per point so it looks like it`s WRONG.

    11,5 % increase for 51 pts is a 0,2 % increase per point. Kervik said that on live PVE and PVP bonuses are already equal. Well they aren`t. I also think that you guys made a typo in your pvp dmg formulas. It looks like instead of 1,2 you typed 0,2. That is quite a mistake !!!!

    Yesterday I made a dummy test and Burning Bright worked fine on them. I got 61,2 % dmg increase.


    Today I also made another test for those ppl saying that losing Planar Attunement (15 % PvP dmg) from Archmage is no biggie. IT IS !!!

    He`s some numbers.

    51 Pyro / 0 Archmage: Fireball - 725 dmg (no crit)

    51 Pyro / 5 Archmage (+15 % pvp dmg): Fireball - 886 dmg (no crit)

    I don`t know how exactly this bonus is calculated but thats a 22 % increase !!!

    Another test:

    51 SC / 0 Archmage: Cloudburst: 492 (no crit)

    51 SC / 5 Archmage: Cloudburst: 569 (no crit)

    That`s a 15,6 % dmg increase. I don`t know why Pyro gets more.


    Devs please look at this. I`m 99% sure I did everything ok, but if any of you guys could repeat the tests (no valor, no vengance, no buffs, no dmg reduction talents) that would be cool.

    Friend could you give us the numbers from around 20 casts of each?

    1 cast is hardly enough to say it is DEFINITELY an error. Unless an ability has no damage range (i.e.: Does X damage to target, not X - Y damage), one cast error reporting seems kinda faulty.

    Not trying to be a prick, but we need many more casts to confirm it is definitely a bug or definitely a typo.

    Have you tried going only 2/3 Burning Bright and see if you get ~40% increase? Unfortunately I wont get home from work for a while yet and can't test it on Live.

    Dmg range for clean nukes cast under those conditions is only few points so it`s irrelevant. The point of this test was to prove that SC talent is working fine and I got 50 % increase for 51 points in SC while I got only 11,5 % for 51 Pyro so it`s clearly broken.

    I`ll repeat all the tests as 1.7 hits Live in EU. Kervik says it works fine now.

    By the way I tested this on a dummy and you do get 1.2% per point spent at 51 points in Pyro.

    Fireball base damage 175

    Fireball with 31 pts in Pyro Tested damage = 200

    31x.04=1.24% 175x1.24%= 21.7 175 +21.7 = 196.7

    Fireball with 32 pts in Pyro Tested damage = 224

    32x.08=2.56% 175x2.56%=44.8 175+44.8=219.8

    Fireball with 33 pts in pyro Tested damage =247

    33x1.2=38.4% 175x38.4%=67.2 175+67.2= 242

    Fireball with 51 pts in pyro Tested damage = 281

    51x1.2=61.2% 175x61.2%=107.1 175+107.1= 282.1


    Working as intended..

    In Pvp The skill does seem to be applying an incorrrect damage modifier...

    The most important question is - on which server do you play ? EU or US.

    US got 1.7 so it` could be fixed there. Were your numbers consistent with my test ?

    Yeah, I haven't done any testing, but something seems low about pyro damage in pvp.

    Aside from the crippling nerfs.

    Morning everyone. I tested it again in 1.7 and it works fine I got 1,2 % pvp dmg increase for each point spent in pyro.
