    Question Most "survivable" mage?

    Noob here.

I've seen a lot of posts asking about the highest DPS builds for mages, but I'm curious about any good builds for surviving. Yeah, I know that mages aren't the best choices much of the time for surviving, but I like the class.

I'll be soloing/crafting a lot, which means being out in the middle of nowhere, alone, picking herbs and stuff. What's a good bet for not being ganked as often?

So far seems like having a pet would help out there.

    Thanks

Probably a Necromancer/Warlock combination. Or, without a pet, Warlock with a touch of Chloro.

You need to decide what you want to do (heal/damage/control)

    1) Domi/Chloro -master of control
    2) Lock/Chloro -DoT's are us with no burst
    3) Warmancer -Better DoT's and uses and abuses Soul Purge

These are some examples and I use them because I play them all. My favorite is the Warmancer because of Soul Purge and it has 44/45 in Warlock so I get all the cool stuff like the CD's, Stun, AoE fear!

I should add one more type that having been on the receiving end can vouch for the insane damage they do when the 51 is up: 51 Warlock.

Go and close a rift as Domi/Chloro, it's not fun. Necrolock or Warmancer.

Chloro for heals + wild abandon
Pyro for flicker and 30% less CC duration
    Stormcaller for Ride the Wind.

Result: Great survivability. Poor dmg output. Average for supporting.

He said surviving ganks so I thought we were talking about pvp.
