Necromancer pets

With the three pets in Necromancer (rouge/zealot/revenant) I was wondering under which circumstances are each pet best used for?

Hello mate, I'm no expert but I do use them all

Zealot = melee DPS - I use him for extra DPS, but not anymore since I got the revenant
Knight = Tank - I find his taunting skills incredibly useful, can keep agro on most things and I can keep him alive pretty well with soul purge. I always use him for rift bosses etc - He can take a beating better than me
Revenant = I use him when I know I'm not going to get agro, as he gives good dps output. ie dungeons, and warfronts

Zealot = best single target dps
Revenant = aoe pet
Knight = solo tank pet

In 99% of instances you should always use the zealot, especially on bosses.

Just a quick note, Revenant is also ranged where the other 2 are melee.

The Zealot is the pet you should be using the vast majority of the time. If you really cannot afford a melee pet then you can use the Revenant, but without 3 points in the talent to help him he's really not very good - and even with the points he either requires a crapton of micro or weird macros to max his DPS due to his odd abilities. He is useful for AOE however when used correctly.

Knight is only for soloing in the overworld.
