Default Zooomancer shouldn't celebrate in PvP...

... considering the split personality is a removable buff. Tons of times I targeted the Dominator and used a buff removal soon as buff was up. Greatly reducing the Zoomancer damage.

So, this brings me to my next question.

What's a good mage dps build that doesn't rely on non-permanent(or non-removable buffs) for pvp?

    Thanks

domi is an hard counter to a ton of pvp specs - that it in change has some hard counter itself is just a given.
    would be totally OP otherwise.
the same goes for nearly all other specs, lock's defensive cd can be purged, elettrified can be dispelled, pyro ground of power and pyro armor can be purged etc.
you just have to learn when to rely on them, against which kind of enemies.

    Thank you

But that really didn't answer my question.

What's a good DPS for mage that does not rely heavily on buffs(aside from group buffs)?

Best spec would be to reroll a warrior or rogue if you want to dps. Mages are more about countering, support, and utility.

    There is no <Perfect Spec>

No matter what you do, someone out there will have abilities to hard-counter you.

Not since the people in beta released their build ideas.

What he's looking for is something, while not amazing, has consistent damage no matter what the opponent does. This will not happen simply because there is so much CC in this game. All of our DPS classes rely on purgable buffs/debuffs of some sort. I believe Ruizo covered it pretty well.

Can someone confirrm Split Personality is a purgable buff?

In 1.3 I wasn't able to purge it off enemy doms with degenerate, I tried in a couple of different duals to allow people to purge it off me, and I have never once had it purged off me, ever.

Is it something I missed in the 1.4 patch notes?

Necro/Chloro/Lock is a good pvp build. Drain tank ftw! Not a lot of burst but you can hold your own against quite a few people and live to tell the grand story.
