Default Bewbies (Dayblind) - Building Storm Guide

This is my first "Guide" so bare with me

I have searched the forums both official and unofficial and consistantly see "Building Storm" being mentioned. Thou usually when I come across these types of forums its very technical and seems like I would need to learn to play with both hands on my keyboard, ask my 4yo kid to help with a few and have a programming degree in order to make it smooth and perfect. /sarcasm

Anyway I took it upon myself to show others what I use in order to perform competitivly in a raid setting. Granted my gear is subpar and is not even in the beginning area of "BiS".

    My stat break down:
    1077 spell power
    701 crit
    247 focus
    Everything is of course unbuffed.

Just to give an idea of my gear, i have crafted Helm (aug with 4sp) T1 pants/belt/shoulders, and a blue ring/trinket
*If you would like to know exact item names just ask*

    Video:
**waiting for it to finish uploading, then ill post it***

    Spec:
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1z...0bo.Vtcz0xoAuz

    Parse:
    http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/7...wbiesparse.png

    Macro's:

    CD's
    #show Intensify Elements

    suppressmacrofailures
    use Luggodhan's Bloated Eye
    cast Intensify Elements
    cast Static Discharge

    "Spam" macro
    #show Lightning Strike
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Lightning Strike
    cast Cloudburst

Now my bar layout is the way it is so if things get kinda crazy (i.e, gotta move) I am able to quickly recover.

    Button 1-5:
    Raging Storm
    Ice Sheer
    Thunderbolt
    "spam" macro
    Arctic Blast

    F - Building Storm
    Q - Static Flux
    MB4 - CD's Macro

    Basic rotation is as follows:

Ice Sheer > Thunderbolt > Toggle SF > "spam" macro [until the CD for LB is just about up (or about 3/4 way thru)] > Toggle off SF

Ice Sheer > Thunderbolt > Toggle SF > "spam" macro (x1) > Toggle BS > Artic Blast > Raging Storm > Toggle off SF/BS after AB lands

Now while this might sound very technical like i mentioned earlier its basically broken down in 2 parts, which each part simply working up the keyboard
With this rotation you wont have to worry about electrified or IS falling off, so no losing damage there.
While this is NOT an exact science I am hoping it can help some.

    Please leave feedback.

You're not maximizing BS/AB. You had an AB fail to crit in that parse. You need at least 3 casts with BS on to reliably hit 100% crit. Also, Cloudburst does more damage than TB unless you have CDs up.

Not sure why I thought you were spamming TB. I blame this boring meeting I'm in.

Edit: Though you're still casting TB too often (like after RS).

His spec is just wrong. I didn't actually look at it before. It should be 34 SC, 32 Ele, and should definitely have CF.

    Default Correct SPEC

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1z...sbo.Vtcz0xoAzz

This is the spec i use, not sure why/how that other way was put up there, was messing around to see if/what the difference in dps was w/o Charged Shield on a fight with 0 AoE

Sometime soon I will be trying out a sc/ele the rotations seem very complicated and macros seem necessary.

It macros very poorly. In fact, the only macro I have for SC/Ele is one that pops my trinket/SD/Intensify.

I like the macro i have setup for LS and CB
The main reason i use it is, when the CD for LS is just about to come off, i have enough time to refresh both my IS and Electrified stacks without having to count 5 CB's or anything.

While it may be a dps loss, it makes it a little easier for me so i can pay attention and run out of things if needed =P

A Dead mage doesnt do the mage of a live one
