Default Mage DPS Simulator pre-development feedback

Ok, so its about time someone did, so on Friday, at 6ish pm BST, I intend to start development of a Mage DPS simulator. Before that time, I'm hoping the community can comment on the plan and suggest improvements/added functionality for Version 1.

    What it will be/do :
    A macro-heavy excel workbook
Offer a rudimentary soul calculator to specify which points will be active
    Be independant of Focus
Run on a 0.1s tick duration
    Offer 4 levels of variation for latency/skill/movement - currently planned as 20, 10, 5 and 1%
Offer fight lengths of 5 and 10 minutes
Provide an average DPS and variance from that average over (initially) 10 iterations
Count a spel'ls entire damage at the moment of cast

    What it will not do:
Tell you the best DPS spec
    Include stat priorities.

What it may do/what I'm concerned about getting right/What I need:
    Talent/Spell icons!
Provide a rotation output - depends on how easily I can format it
    Allow for raid buff customisation
    Buff expiry during spell casts
    Buff changes during DoTs
Charge management - one of my biggest concerns is getting this right

It's a cool idea, but it's going to be really hard to nail down correctly, I think.

There's just too many variables in calculating DPS. The same reasons that cause 1 parse to be 200 DPS higher than another parse of the exact same build/rotation are the reasons it would be hard to make a spread sheet that does what you want.

    GSB: 5/5, RoS: 4/4, HK: 10/11
    GP: 4/4, DH: 4/4

That's why I'm planning on having it run several iterations and correctly calculating the experimental uncertainty.

Awesome, I need to go to bed, but I'll surely have some time to check out if I can do anything to help later on

    Cheers
