    Default Mage, Solo Elite Build

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0z...k0s.EdIuo0czRo

    Pet: Skeletal Knight

    Macro: Heal

    #show Ruin
    /cast Ruin
    /cast Radiant Spores
    /cast Nature's Touch
    /cast Vile Spores

This macro will make soloing a little easier. All you have to do, after setting up Synthesis and Lifegiving Veil, is mash one button. If your pet's HP is starting to drop, you can cast a Direct Heal such as Bloom or Flourish.

I've heard that the Elementalist pet is a better thank, but I am not as comfortable with the Elementalist tree as I am with the Necromancer.

    Pet: Greater Earth Elemental

    Macro: Heal

    #show Ruin
    /cast Ruin
    /cast Radiant Spores
    /cast Nature's Touch
    /cast Nature's Fury
    /cast Vile Spores

This should be a much improved version with a far superior tank pet.

Thanks a lot for the builds! I'm gonna get the Necro/Chloro build a try, I'll let you know how it goes.

start off with plague bolt>necrosis>looming demise

drop grave rots to keep at least one stack of deathly calling

spam vile spores, natures touch on cd

    use skeleetal knight

    ???

    profit

you will never, EVER take threat from the pet so long as there is one stack of deathly calling, necrosis and looming demise up.

Elementalist is a lot more reliable for killing elites.

With that you are restoring 25% of your pet's health per tick... I have found nothing that compares to that. Your earth pet will be tanking pretty much anything, forever, as you work away at the enemy. Not to mention he can hold hate far better and more reliably than the necromancer pet can.

Down the road, once you get geared, the necromancer pet has some serious issues keeping the attention of the monster on him, whereas with the earth pet I could wail away and it wouldn't even look at me funny.

Is this also viable to level up? I am 37 atm and so bored of the necrolock and the waromancer...
Would one of you be kind enough to post a build for lvl 37, 40, 45? Much appreciated!

If what you want to do specifically with the build is solo elites, nothing can beat dominator.

Remember that there are no diminishing returns on PvE mobs, so you can just transmog -> snare -> nuke -> rinse and repeat in order to kill pretty much everything that isn't CC immune (most open world mobs aren't).

I've found a fair number of rift stage 5 50s to be immune to CC. Just a suggestion for people that keep a build around to be able to finish off rifts by yourself with.
